NSR - New Battery for the car

After my wife's Range Rover Evoque started suffering the common problem of spurious fault codes caused by voltage drops I decided it might be time to renew the stop/start battery on my 2017 registered L538. This was only underscored by lifting the bonnet (hood) and seeing the car was running on it's OEM battery!

After shopping around and researching older posts on the RR Evoque forum, I opted for a national mobile on your drive service paying £221.49* for a Yuasa AGM115 with a 5-yr warranty. It was all fitted satisfactorily on Friday and so far, so good. 

I'm now fielding all the "did they recode / synch the BMS" questions on the forum.  What I'm responding so far is that "Didn't prove necessary! Battery swap in <5 mins appears to have meant nothing lost it's coding?"  I'll report back if that changes.

Basically to say:
NO failure code showing up or CEL, all fine and no harm done.
A neccessary BMS reset would trigger a code.

Glad your battery swap is working for you Neil!

I mentioned here that I had to put a new battery in a Chevy that had sat unused for a few years.
I too wondered if this was going to somehow upset the engine settings.
I asked around and got all kinds of different answers....."No", "heck yes!", "IDK", "maybe", "bring it in - we'll install it for $140 plus price of battery"

So, bought a diehard of proper specs - and daughter and I set about changing it out.
YOUTUBE was my guide for this model of car. It looked buried -





but was easy enough to access.


Car had sat with half a tank of gas for those years - and in spite of current tales of woe with 10% gas - it fired up and ran perfectly!
