Kymco dj riddle 70cc help
« on: January 16, 2024, 09:39:05 AM »
Hello,

I am composing between a Peugeot rapido and a kymco dj. Now I have a kymco dj block under my rapido frame with a 70cc malossi sport cast iron cylinder a malossi clutch yellow compression spring standard tension springs, rollers are 6.9 from memory. Other than that i have a v8 exhaust without any plugs. Now I have a 94 standard carb in it and the spark plug is orange/brownish but not yet coffee brown.

Now my question is. It pulls like crazy (small autowheelie) but around 40 kmh it has a huge dip and pulls up to 69 gps. I don't think it is getting enough fuel or something like that. He pulls on full throttle and then back again and alternately. If I slow down in speed, I have to let go of the gas completely for a few seconds before I give it more gas, otherwise it sounds like it is not getting enough gas (sound like a bike drowning).

I will work on that dip later with tuning but first solve the fuel riddle.

My idea is that it is draining the float bowl since it only wants to do something again if I hold my throttle all the way back for a few seconds. but I could be wrong.

Should i buy bigger nozzles?

Can I run 70cc setup on original 12mm carb or is that too small?

Or is my carb simply too small and should I look at a 17.5mm (of which that replacement manifold and the included silicone spacer are pussy)

Thanks in advance.
