Fathers’ Day (well, it is in the UK) Joke
« on: June 18, 2023, 09:21:45 AM »
Shamelessly copied from elsewhere, but has a ring of truth for some of us maybe..,😬😬😬
An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h at 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with a Tempo Mach 2 appears.
The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio:   "Airbus, boring flight isn’t it? Now have a look here!"
He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, and then swoops down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks:   "Well, how was that?"
The Airbus pilot answers: "Very impressive, but watch this!"
The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly straight, at the same speed. After 15 minutes, the Airbus pilot radios, "Well, how was that?
Confused, the jet pilot asks, "What did you do?"
The AirBus pilot laughs and says:   "I got up, stretched my legs, walked to the back of the aircraft to use the washroom, then got a cup of coffee and a chocolate fudge pastry."
The moral of the story is:  When you’re young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great. But as you get older and wiser, you learn that comfort and peace are more important.
This is called S.O.S.: Slower, Older and Smarter.
Dedicated to all my senior friends  ~  it’s time to slow down and enjoy the rest of the trip.  🤗?

Well you know what they say Klav, “growing older is inevitable, growing up is optional!”

I once heard someone remark about how much smarter their father got as he got older.
The more I learn the more obvious the immensity of my ignorance becomes.

We're on vacation along the coast of Delaware.....so the ladies are sleeping in - while pup and I go for coffee at sunrise. As I dropped the pup onto my daughter this morning, she cracked one eye open and said, "Happy Father's Day, Padre'!"
I'd forgotten....(my pop passed yrs ago, so..)

Later she presented me with one of those (personalized) Hallmarks which are so hard to read through....
I have been fortunate to have had 6 children.
It has been my pleasure to have had one or more of these youngsters in the house since Feb., 1972.....yeah, 51 years and counting!

My wife shared this with me, "Your daughter knows that, as the last of the litter, when she is gone - it will be really hard for you. She imagined this scenario: standing at her kitchen widow with her husband, as he looks out at the tent in their back yard and says, "has your father had his coffee yet?"

I'm making her no promises to behave.

And as for aging....I'm a heck of a lot more patient now - but thankfully - no more mature!

Good post Neil!

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

my son was trying to call me all day, little did I know, my phone and internet that comes into my barn first, was out due to a GFI circuit breaker on the circuit that my fiber box is plugged into. Didn't bother me much not to have phone or internet, when I finally decided to check it out, soon as I open my barn door, I see the orange GFI light on the outlet in front of me, the outside outlet is on the same circuit, and I have 2 battery tenders on extension cords and it has been pouring rain. no surprise the GFI tripped
