I replaced the stator on my 2009 Kymco AC 9. The reason I changed it as it wasn’t charging the battery and tested the battery , rectified and wires so it pointed to the stator as no voltage increases when the bike was ticking over!
When I fitted it, she fired up then started to make a clunking noise
So I shut her off And took the cooling fan back off and realised I hadn’t tighten the bolt enough to hold the flywheel in place! So I retightened it properly this time and reinstall the cooling fan! I then tried to start the bike and it bogged out and now won’t start! After a few minutes of trying to start it the exhaust back fires! I checked the spark plug and it was very black so I gave it a good clean and tested for a spark which was fine! I also checked to make sure the piston was moving encase I damaged the crank shaft but I could see the piston moving up and down! So again I tried to start it and it just kept turning over and then a back fire! I have used the kick start and the electric start! Still no joy! But after a couple of kick starts the kick start would stop half way and wouldn’t go any further unless I took my foot off and then i could do a full kick! I removed the stator again and the spindle seems solid, no play etc, so I took the crank shaft casing off and the start motor clutch is loose, is this normal? It only seems to be held in when the toothed wheel is in place! When she try’s to start it acts like the battery is flat, but it’s not as it’s fully charged, not a healthy turn over
So question is what have I done wrong 😂😂
