Too much gas??
« on: June 04, 2010, 08:25:50 PM »
It's easier just to crank the gas all the way over to go at max. speed (30mph+-), but today I noticed that I can get up to  speed when the handle is about 30% less then that...Question is... am I somehow wasting gas by cranking it as far as it will go...or is the gas flow regulated to just supply enough regardless??

..as a general rule, less throttle equals less fuel consumption...

..do you get up to speed in the same distance with different throttle positions?
..every mod (action) necessitates a (reaction) mod..

I think I throttled all the way from standing to top speed to start.  What I noticed was that once at top speed (33 mph on the meter along level roadway)if I rotated back about 20 to 30 degrees there was no noticed difference in speed or engine sound.  Farther back than that, and the speed would start to drop.  Going up a grade I throttled all the way to get the most power and speed, but even there I'm not sure that I had to......I guess it will take more time to get a better answer.
Oops...I should not have used % in my question.

You're not derestricted. The fuel is going to waste. If you do the mods, and open the scoot up it will make a huge difference.
