ftp://Wrapped up like a giant burrito - that's how the Stig stayed warm on a 45 min., 29°F ride to my coffee village this sunrise. Med. setting on the Gerbing battery heated gloves and just one balaclava - also.
-1.67°Celsius actually seems colder - and matches the sensation at 45-50 mph....seeing a heavy frost on everything did not help.
Supposed to be about the same tomorrow at sunrise so, I'm going to add the FroggTogg rain over-pants to my Slider kevlar jeans with the CE pads (those pads keeps your knees warmer)

If I would stop taking my coffee outside it might help. But I prefer the patio table....and a hand-warmer packet & the privacy.
1 hour there, 1.5 to 2 hrs having coffee and reading scooter forums outside, 1 hour ride home. Feeling a little chilly in the end. (keep coffee hot outside? Double/Cups and keep the lid on!)

Sure, this can't last much longer. Be back to watching the night shift changing at Tim Horton's soon enough. Only a 15 min ride away - with tables outside.

Sometimes wonder what a big screen on the LIKE200iLX might feel like on really cold days.....

I don't go this far away from home on high speed country roads on the LIKE200i.
When I bought it this was my daydream - but not safe.

With that temp id get my car! Ur a brave man... this year weve got 30s at the worst day without snow.
I took the scoot out but the windshield makes a huge difference. Id consider attaching one

I just moved from Denver and know the struggle lol here in Charlotte NC it should be milder but I still gotta work on some cold weather gear.

Today, cell phone....weather.com.... said feels like 21°F ....I gotta quit looking at my cellphone!
The FroggTogg rain pants helped a lot, and using triple cups!!
Considered putting a case of malwart chemical hand warmers distributed in every pocket....but if I have an off out there in the boonies I might burst into flames before the squad got to me :-)
You guys in SoCal and Florida should be ashamed of yourselves. .....
I can still feel most of my toes.
I was in the grocery store's "personal items" isle, with my teenager yesterday....I said, "Look! Depends for Winter Scooter Riders.....for when you need a little boost of warmth!"  Poor girl.

I enjoy riding in the cold, depending on how cold, I have gear for anything

sometimes I layer, sometimes I use heated gear, I only go on longer rides, if it takes longer to put the gear on than the time it takes to get to my destination, I take my Jeep, but if its a 100 miles, regardless ot temp or other weather conditions, I take my V-strom.Not sure how much I will use my UXV this winter. I have no windshield for it yet and I'm not sure if the charging system is adequate to run my electric gear

quite a bit, the air is denser with more oxygen the higher air density uses more fuel and makes more power

if I had to guess, I would say as much as 20%-25% gains from say a 90°f summer day and a -15°f winter day, my best description of how much gain in performance comes from a nekid red 99 SV650, in summer if you wanted to wheelie, you had to work the clutch, at -15° all you need to do is twist the throttle, not only in 1st or 2nd, also roll on wheelies  in 3rd gear

even my GF with here little no name 50cc scooter notices quicker 0-40 times as the temps drop

not much else you can do with the free horsepower, at extreme temps, wind chill at high steady speeds turns yer helmet into a popsicle, I've ridden in the coldest weather, but observe a personal speed limit of 65 and try my damndest to stick to roads with lower speed limits  than that, frost heaves and suspension are also an issue riding on northern New England roads in winter
