About to Buy New Scooter

Hi

I'm a former owner of a Kymco Agility 50 scooter. Really liked it.

I'm about to get a new scooter following the theft of my original. The dealer has several Kymco options ... Agility 50 and Super 8's (both the same price).  Now, apart from looks is there any advantage to the Super 8 ? It seems to be physically bigger with larger diameter wheels. Maybe that's a good thing on the crappy roads of CT?

I was happy with the speed of the Agility 50, I'm not expecting more power... in fact the main thing I like about the Super 8 is the bigger mirrors! But overall reliability is my main criteria

Any advice would be appreciated. (although this is a Kymco forum if anyone has topinions about other brands ... Genuine Scooter, Yamaha, etc I'd be grateful for those too!)

You hit it right on the head w/ the bigger wheels. Both scoots are equal in reliability, and the styling is a matter of taste, but if you like to ride on the aggressive side, the Super 8 is the way to go. You will get a quicker handling scoot in the 8

Thanks for this .... one question though. I figure the bigger wheels will take more engine power to accelerate (bigger gear ratio as they "couple" to the road)?

Do you think the difference between the Agility wheels and the Super 8 wheels is significant in this regard ... especially since there's  limited power from the 50cc engine in the first place!

The only answer I have is the scoot. can be modified to whatever degree you want. The larger wheels will add a certain amount of confidence for the every day rider. If you like seat of the pants running... Smaller is more fun. If you are more into cruising... The engine is WIDE open to Mods. There are 125 stroker kits for the kymco.
