Movie 150 / Performance Upgrade Part 1.
« on: August 16, 2015, 10:28:35 AM »
After 200 miles break in, I decide to do some performance upgrades on my Scooter.

1. Variator Kit plus Oversize Clutch.

After installing the full kit, Very noticeable acceleration gain. The top end gain about 3 mph, not much but at least now I feel like I start from 1st gear instead of 2rd if I am driving a stick shift car. For more power and top end, still need to get Big Bore kit, performance pipe, and bigger carb.

2. Four pistons front brake caliper

This NCY 4 pots brake caliper with caliper adapter and performance brake pads install directly on to the stock 240mm brake rotor. Now the front brake are so strong that i can easily do a stoppy. maybe or may not suitable for some people, for me I am loving it.

3. Quick Throttle

Stock Throttle is about 1/4 turn to WOT, with the Quick Throttle, only 1/8 turn to WOT. The throttle is like an On/Off switch, maybe or may not suitable for some people, for me I am loving it.

Race Talk / Re: Inquiry: Technique of Dragging Knee on a Scooter
« on: August 12, 2015, 08:59:42 AM »
Use your none dragging leg to hook on to the seat and plant your foot on to the floor board of the passenger foot rest, make sure your leg are able to lock on the scooter or else you might fall off the scooter. For you dragging knee, you can either pretend the floor board is ur foot peg and rest the outside of your foot on the board, Or rest the sole of your foot on the edge of the floor board.

I recommend practice at a open area like a parking lot or on the race track, make sure you wear protective gears, remove center stands and put some sand paper grip tape on the floor boards. good luck.

How about racing on the track? Couple of my friends and me race at the go kart tracks with the mini bikes and mini thumpers.

Movie 150 / Re: Kymco Movie 150 (Racing 150) review

Here are some pictures of my Scooter. So far, I removed all the US DOT required 15" apart signal lights, also enabled the front and rear turn signal lights and removed rear mud flap then installed Fender Eliminator. I change the front cover to black to match the Taiwanese Domestic Market Orange Racing 150.

Movie 150 / Kymco Movie 150 (Racing 150) review
« on: August 10, 2015, 07:47:43 AM »
Hey guys, I recently purchased a Movie 150, It is an awesome Scooter. It looks Nice, great power and good handling for a stock 150cc scooter.

In Taiwan, they actually has 3 different models: RACING 125, RACING 150, and RACING KING 180. Early model pre 2010 is actually carbureted just like the US model Movie 150, then post 2010 is all fuel injected.

The Racing 150 is actually one of the popular race scooter use for track racing in Taiwan, therefore there are TONS of performance parts made for it in Taiwan, but unfortunately not in the US. It is possible some of GY6 parts might fit, like pipes, manifold, variator etc.

I am currently breaking in the engine (only put 50 miles on it), After that I will starts to mod it. I will share some info and DIY in the future, hopefully will be useful for you guys.
