I'm in Denver and live that we can park our scooters on the sidewalk or anywhere you can park a bike. Don't know how that guy rode his Met into Silverton. I can barely get my wife's up the hill to our house. She does okay on it but she only weighs 135 pounds.

« on: September 19, 2016, 10:58:59 PM »It is a 2016, yes I found out it is the 'Metropolitain' in the US. Ok, so now I no longer have a Kymco, can I still post here ?My wife has a Metropolitan and I do all the maintenance and ride it quite a bit. If you have any questions about it, let me know.
Since it is only a 50 cc I did not have to get licensed, they allowed me to take the course with the teenagers and they are all off now to write their exams and I get to practise running around my quiet neighbourhood and empty parking lots.
I am riding so much better after my course and on a smaller scooter. Funny thing is I got used to putting my left foot down and this has been my go to when stopping. I am also finding it easier to manuever like putting on stand and backing up using my feet, it is so much lighter.
Got her on Wednesday she now has a whopping 30 kilometres

« on: September 16, 2016, 03:51:46 PM »Saw one for sale. Saw on line they did not make them after 2011. Seller says 2012 Super 8 50 cc 4 stroke. Totally stock 55 mph easily. Could be he is not aware that it could be 150 cc ? Any thoughts?Totally stock but with restrictions removed it's hitting 55 kilometers per hour, not mph

« on: September 01, 2016, 01:14:15 AM »my question is where did you mount the other end of cable?Haven't mounted it yet as I'm testing it out. I'm planning to put it above the upper right hand side of the spark plug access panel. It's going to be different for each scooter model and cable length.

If you live where it's flat, the stock rollers work fine. If you want a little better acceleration and hill speed, go one gram lower with rollers.

So a couple of cautionary notes if you decide to build it this way. Once you glue the cable on the opener, you can't take it back apart to adjust anything. You want to be very sure the cable length is about right and can be adjusted with the bicycle barrel adjuster. You might want to use a lighter spring. I have to pull harder than I'd like to open the choke. The spring does certainly make sure the circuit is closed when I let go of it.
Haven't used it yet in cold weather, but I'm assuming it will work as well or better than the auto enricher.

Since you can't touch both feet down at once, like someone else suggested, get used to always stopping and putting the same one foot down. Most right handed people are most comfortable putting their left foot down. You can also have your seat cut down so both feet will touch.

I'm fitting mine with a manual enricher to see if I can get it dialed in. The convenience of a 50cc scooter in Denver is worth some effort. $5 registration for three years and can park anywhere you can park a bicycle
