what tach you using?  I used TrailTech TTO worked OK, cheap to buy.  I wouldn't worry about rpm, heat is the problem.  with stock engine, I ran mine wide open all the time, no issues.  with 70cc kit, would turn over 10,000, but always ran hot, never could get it figured out, finally decided air cooled engine couldn't take it, cooling fins not large enough area to keep engine cool.  cheers

The frame vin number is on the upright panel below the handle bars, just above the little storage box, and has a rectangular snap on plastic cover hiding it.  Seated on the scooter, your knees are right behind the vin cover.  Cheers

I have 2 Malossi final drive kits, different numbers, one supposed to fit People 50 2T (it didn't), and the other for Super 9 LC (I don't know it it fits, haven't tried it yet).

I did a lot or research on final drive, and info very skimpy, not reliable.  I do know without final drive, 70cc kit doesn't really increase top speed, but you get there faster, and can stay there into head winds/ going up hills.  70cc kit is nice, but you really need final drive kit to make it work the best IMO.

Look around, there are final drive kits still out there, they come up on ebay from time to time.  I don't want to sell mine because I might still use one of them.  I still have 03 Orange Super 9 LC in very good condition, low miles that I like a lot, but haven't done much to make it go fast yet.  Cheers

unless you can get the required parts cheap, I think you will find it expensive to convert back to OEM, just run it the way it is, lots of folks like to run without the oiler anyways, if stock engine just add 2.5 oz high grade oil per gallon when you fillup, make it easy and always add 1 gallon of gas at the pump, so you always add the same amount of oil, Cheers

Super 9 / Re: What's your top speed?

I have pretty much OEM 03 S9 LC, has pod airfilter, larger carb jets, and some CVT tuning.  It runs over 50mph/ 80km on speedo, which is probably 5 to 7mph high.

I sold 03 S9 LC with pod airfilter, Malossi variator, Dr Pulley sliders, Malossi torque spring, Malossi torque driver, Tecnigas NextR pipe, and I think can hit true 60mph from time to time, depending upon wind direction, slope of road.  Note: doesn't have 70cc kit, still 49cc.  Cheers

You still didn't say if you have AC or LC engine, would make a difference for me, I did 70cc on AC engine, and would not do that again, will get better results with LC. Cheers

hello westcoast, did you say whether your Super 9 was LC or AC?  These scooters are super fun to tweak to run better with pipe, jetting, CVT tuning, etc.  However, I agree with Tries, it's probably never going to pull up hills like you want without 70cc kit.

You adjust the oil pump with cable length.  There is an adjustment for the cable in front of the pump.  Be careful not to have the cable bottom out at full throttle, or you will eventually pull the cable stop off the end of the cable, then you will be running without oil.  Good luck

For Sale / 2005 Kymco People 50 2T OEM muffler
« on: May 09, 2017, 05:40:13 PM »
used 2005 Kymco People 50 2T OEM muffler, in very good condition, no dents, plastic heat guard a little scratched up, but not bad.  This is the good one without the extra tubes, free flowing, better performance than what came on later models.  I can send some pics, if you provide email address.  Asking $50 plus shipping OBO.  Thanks for looking :-)
