Remove the fuel tank and clean it out, then check your feed hoses for holes or nips. Replace or remove any inline fuel filters

Update. The little stinker is still going well. My son has now covered over 8000 miles since getting it.
Today it has passed it's annual uk road worthiness test.
It's speed has fallen though, maxing out at 45mph.
The transmission cover has been removed and we have put it down to a worn and stretched belt. A new one is being ordered tomorrow. Going for another genuine bando. Will let you know how the new belt affects speed

Clean your plug with a wire brush and regap it to 0.9 mill. Unscrew the supressor cap, chop a quarter of an inch off the HT lead and screw the cap back on. Refit the plug and cap then try to start the bike using the kickstart.

Big bore kits are not always the answer. Have a look in my zx50 thread. Ink your current variator and follow the instructions. Odds are, if you shorten your drive boss, it ll go faster.

Check connections to the lamps Youll need to remove the front and top fairings. Check dash bulb and front/rear indicator bulbs

With the bike on its centre stand, just top the transmission oil until it leaks out of the filler hole. Keep going with the little scoot. It will bud worth it when you are ripping around on it

Go to the zx50 page, I've put a guide in my tuning mod for setting mixture. Yours will be the same if it's a two stroke

Naughty lee,

Mind making a "dummies guide to making a 50cc have wings"? I think it would be a great resource for the forum

Its already on here, tuning 49cc mopeds takes time, especially when you are new to bikes. I'm 42 and I've  been riding a lot of years now, so I know a few tricks. Some tricks are free and some are expensive.
So , very quickly... Remove any restrictive washers in the pipe, clean and gap your plug, lift the back wheel off the ground and set your mixture to achieve max revs, splice the green cable on the ecu, and finally, skim the variator boss down to 34 mm on the side of a bench grinding wheel.
It ll do 50, my sons does 50 without the splice mod

Or you could refit the original barrel and head with new gaskets. BBKs are not the answer to everything, I can get the standard bike to hit over 50mph without spending any money

Once you figure it out, modify your variator too for more speed. I've posted a guide in the zx50 area

I would call the people you bought the kit from or the mfg of the kit, they may have some info or a starting point.
Good advice. Swapping jets isn't difficult, you'll need two or three new spark plugs too.
Once you've fitted the jet, replace the plug and go for a five mile run, when you get home remove the plug and check the colour of the insulator at the sparking tip, it should be a gingery greyish colour.. If it's still white, the mixture is still too lean and you'll need to go up another jet size, mine went up eight or ten sizes just by fitting an exhaust !

Remove, clean and gap your plug. If you lift the bike on wooden chocks on the centre stand will it rev up nice and high ?

I'm not good with this kind of stuff, how would I go about doing that?  I'm honestly this close to just taking the damn thing back to the dealer and have them fix it and buyback because he is shipping out for the navy in 9 days and it's now slowly becoming my very expensive problem.  Thanks

Let's stick with the basics. If the bike has fuel and oil in it and the battery is charged then it will probably start. Try removing the spark plug, cleaning it with a wire brush and refitting it. Then using the kickstart with no throttle, give it a kick. It ll probably start
