People GT 300i / Re: Several questions
« on: January 14, 2013, 05:42:10 AM »
your GPS should be OK ,. but the battery tender should be hooked directly to the battery with a fuse on the plus ( red wire) side ,. I used # 10 wire on my 300i DT.  or the same size wire as your charger,.then you can use the plug for heated gloves or any thing ,. tire pump, etc.

I have a 2011 300i dt. 28,000 km.  runs very good but it was reving to high over 60 miles per hour, changed the belt  & variator now it revs about 6,000 rpm at 60 mph.  I have a top box & side boxes by Givi with admore lights so I am well lite up for night riding,. I just rebuilt my seat for comfort , added 2 inches on top so I can slide back 3 or 4 inches,  Im waiting for spring for a long ride to find out how comfortable it is ,.

I have a 300i DT. I was 6 ft. 2,   20 years ago, 220 lb.s I had to add 2 inches to seat for comfort and I cut the dome out of rear seat plastic, and I cut the top of seat back rest off,.  then had 2 inches of new foam over it all,. to get 2 inches,  added 4 inches of foam, now I can slid my butt all the way back, to where it is comfortable,. the foam is hard enough to not sag in the hole,. and you can still store a full face helmet in there, now I have full view over givi wind screen,. I will have to wait for spring to try out long hr.s of riding for comfort level,.

P S . the reason for the hill run is to get full compression on the down hill run and WOT . on the up hill run ,. tryed to keep RPM below 7,500 ,. the top of the hill was 1 mile to turn around and bottom of the hill 1/2 mile to turn around,.

one more thing to check, water in the gas ,. when it runs bad , give it a shot of fresh fuel, directly in the carb.,  and see if it revs up,.
