This is what a pothole did to one of the rims on my '03 B650.

Dumb question but, did you ride it like that after it happened?

Curious, why do you ask?
You have abrasions......from the wheel doing what?
Stig

Something on my front RIM that appears to be an abrasion or 'crack' in the paint on the outside of the RIM. I haven't determined yet.

When you say tyre rims, do you mean the wheels?

I'd expect the wheel to outlast the bike.

Worry about cracks, if they're there I would scrap the wheel.

All sorts. Bends on the sealing edge and cracks are the common ones.

The Metal RIM the tire goes onto.

1-How long are tire RIMS suppose to last and

2-What sort of 'abrasions' should you be concerned about when you see them?

3-What kinds of damage can pot holes cause?

Thanks.

To my current knowledge the following occurred.

When I had the problem with my drive wheel not moving when power was off and moving forward without throttle when power was on, it turned out that it was one of the clutch assemblies. Specifically the secondary clutch assembly, not the primary as I had thought before. The secondary clutch assembly was replaced per Kymco. Since then my top end has lost about 5 mph. I used to get halfway between 90-100 and now it stops at 90 mph.

It only happened after the secondary clutch was replaced. Additionally when I test the bike at around 90 mph it feels as if something is 'catching'.

I really need the experts to chime in on what this could be the result of.

Guys,

i'm gonna talk to the Tech again and get some more information from him and the correct terminology then get back to you. I'm pretty sure he said there is a primary and secondary clutch assembly.

22
This is the first I've heard these terms. To clarify, primary clutch is the variator and secondary clutch is the clutch? And they only replaced the primary clutch, and NOT the secondary?

I'm also wondering about this thread wear? There's no threads to wear.

Since vibration started after they did work, I'd be most suspicious of the work they did, or the new parts.

Sorry lemme clarify.

It was the CLUTCH assembly not the throttle assembly. My mistake.

And it was the threads on the bearings holding the clutch assembly in place. There is a primary and a secondary clutch. And this inconsistency began after the installed the new primary clutch.

Hello Gents,

Since I have had my last couple of services I have noticed more and more vibrations from the footbed/Front end and I am perplexed as to what it could be.

They placed a new primary clutch assembly on the bike because of thread wear at the end of the original. Now, my understanding is the primary and secondary clutch are not evenly worn when they replaced the primary with a new one.

Ever since then I have been experiencing a increasing amount of Vibrations. First from the front end, then from what seems to be the footbed area.

Any other possible causes?

I’ve ridden the 700.
Nice enough ride but I’m not doing over 100 on it....

AMAC

Why not? Top speed is rated around 107 I think.

25
Call me Columbo, but just one thing! Isn't lane splitting for stopped traffic?

Not in California Sir.

26
Just quoting from reviews of this scooter.
6 footers will ride with their knees dead against the dash plastic - they say. Is there one around for you to sit on?
One could always ride with knees out.
Stig

I Sat on one at Berts Megamall in West Covina. It's honestly about the same size as the Xciting500. Maybe slightly larger. I am just about 6 feet too. I only know one youtube review where some  insults the bike the entire review and then points that out also.

Other than that, I wonder if there is several other reasons to upgrade. For example, do you feel that extra horsepower a lot even though the top speed is only about 104 mph? My biggest thing is pull away speed for lane splitting and stuff.

27
How tall are you?
Reports are - if @6' - don't even bother test riding.
5'8" or below....should be able to find one going for a song.
How's your singing?
Plenty of reviews out there......
Stig

I am 5'11 but I do not understand.

Because the Xciting 500 fits me just fine and the MyRoad 700i is suppose to be slightly larger still.

28
But he has not forgotten how to maintain stuff....

Of this I have no doubt.

The only thing is I cannot make the man want to help me.

I did ask, several times. And he does not seem available.

Xciting 700i / Should I upgrade to the Myroad700i from the xciting500?
« on: March 20, 2018, 04:00:57 AM »
Owner of an Xciting500 here, should I upgrade to the Myroad700i?

Why?

Why not?

Thanks.

Strange,  MJR is still active on Burgmanusa forum.   ???

I'm not sure either. Perhaps he's lost interest in the Kymco and remains more interested in the Burgman.
