Our church is right on hwy 64 and when a pak of HD's go by we can all hear them. My wife always looks at me to see if I'm smiling. Today I heard that sound, Very unusual for Jan. or Feb., but it got up to around 65 w/sun here today. Go ahead Karl, rub it in. (LOL) Believe me my brother, I'd been on something today if there was any way I could. Late March it's gonna really be tough seeing and hearing all the bikes buzzing around here.

What child, especially boys, doesn't love motorcycles, scooters, atv, utv, well anything with wheels and a motor. It's good, when they're old enough and  are using the proper safety gear, to take them for rides. A very good time for education into safely operating a bike.  Don't just teach them about the fun part of riding, but include bike safety, operation, handing techniques and reckoning dangerous situations that can occur on the roads, city streets, and highways. This all of course when they are old enough to learn it. When we give a youngster a ride on our bike, we are creating a whole new generation of bikers.

I wish I could go to a magazine rack and pick up a scooter magazine , but there are none. Several on motorcycles, but nothing for scooters. I even went to a book store with magazines on everything you could imagine, except scooters. I guess there's just not enough scooter people in the U.S. to support that..

Hi Karl. Had the right hip replaced in late 2016 and then found out that the left hip and knee need replacing. As if that wasn't bad enough, I managed to break the left Ischium (sit bone) off of the Ilium , or pelvis.. My doc said 3 to 4 mo. for that to heal and then we'd take a look at the hip replacement followed by the knee replacement.. So I figure all this will keep me down most of this year. Just hope when that's all finished I'll be able to walk and ride again. I guess I'm just old and wearing out.

Tromper, I can't remember the name, if it has one. Just a cheap Chinesse FM only receiver, that someone had on Ebay. I had one on my SW and sold it with the bike and then ordered another one for my DT.. The receiver is about 3 & 1/2" square and the chrome speakes are about 2 & 1/2" X 3 ". They mount on the mirrow stalks. I cut a hole in the tupperware down under the handle bars and mounted the receiver there.. I may have one of the boxes that it came in someplace in the shop, but can't get out there now with this broken hip.

Getting up near 60 f here Sat. and Sun. but it won't help me. I'll probably be down til this time 2019.. I envy you guys who can ride, but hopefully I will ride again. Too much snow up there de dee. Better stay off the street until the thaw. At your age, if you go down you'll probably break something and old bones heal slow.

Paul, I have a small fm receiver on my DT300 and it has powered speakers and it came with I 12 VDC plug, however I didn't use the receptacle in the small glove box. I wired it directly to the battery and placed an on/off toggle on the radio. It is fused. Never had a problem. You just have to remember to switch off the power to the radio when you turn off your engine. I have a brightly lit switch to help remember,  Plays great and you can get quality sound at 65 mph. Mich about that and the wind noise takes over.. I got mine on e-bay, receiver, two powered speakers, all wiring you need and a wiring diagram. Oh and there was aa noise filer included, which I've never needed. I don't see why you couldn't wire it to the ignition switch to the power On terminal. That way when you shut down the engine, power to the receiver would be off.

Money can't buy better oil than Amsoil. Absolutely nothing other than 100% man made synthetic
engine lubricant. In fact it's the only true syn. oil. All the rest that say "fully synthetic",but this is not true,as they all begin with a crude base. Crude oil = Dino = Carbon, and require additive packages to offset the harmful effects of carbon.
Can I get a Amen. (Bet I can start yet another "motor oil" thread, in a heart beat) Just fooling. We have and have had way to many motor oil. threads, so we don't need another one. I use Mobil 1 (crude base) 10-40 in my DT and different Mobil 1 oils in all my vehicles. Why? Because Amsoil is more difficult to get and after that M 1 is the next best, IMHO, as it has far more "molly" than all the rest. 700 PPM.

Not sure to whom this question was directed, but my answer is No coats seen in Honolulu.

You could just be unto something mousejunks.. HD had a bunch of bikes with very low miles, needing ignition switches replaced. Turns out that was what the problem was. The contacts were just to light and could't handle the heat. (That was about 20 years ago.) All to many times The Motor Company has allow the customers to do their R&D for them.

If I could afford it, Id move to Honolulu. It's like summer there year round. Been there twice and it's where I'd really love to be. Scootin all year and laying around on the beach. You can sleep there if you like and no one bothers you. If they do, then Dog is just two streets over and he'll go find 'em.

Yes the Scottish have stood out well amongst our friends and allies. They made a very strong commitment to the allies against the axis powers in WW2. We won't hold it against you because you didn't know where Deliverance was filmed. True is, I didn't either. One other tidbit: we went down to 2 degrees above last night. Berrrrrrrrrrr.
