Very nice mate. You've got more running/registered bikes than anyone I know on multiple motorcycle forums. I like having more than one too to pick from. Everytime I get on another one I fall in love with it.

Have ABS on my SW but have not had any situations with panic stopping. Did have a panic stop when missing the stop sign on my Honda 919 Hornet non- ABS and locked up the rear wheel and got a little fish tail but let off the brakes and straightened back up with some counter steering.

Hey Forbes, my buddy from a Goldwing Forum who got diabetes and lost his leg last year now had to have the other taken about a month ago. He's going through therapy now for his second prosthetic. My friend Bob has no insurance or money and Medicaid is paying for his prosthetic but doesn't seem like his is as nice as yours. Your's sounds very high tech.

After sitting nearly 2 months, my SW came to life on Saturday as we spent the whole day together doing construction bids, hanging at my fav coffee shop and perusing Lowe's with Deb for a new kitchen faucet. Everytime I ride this jewell I fall in love with it. And, I must beg to differ as it's also fun to ride fast...but Saturday was my slow and poky day to just cruise and enjoy.

Mine is a marshmallow butt as 500 is tops for me and that's not fun. The SW is up to the task but at 67 I prefer to let you younger whipper snappers claim the glory and I'll cheer you on.

Thought you had a broccoli brake Tom on that Liberty?

I recall sitting at a stoplight on the new Burgman 400 thinking," I should love this! "
Same light, 2 yrs later  ---  on the little red Italian job --- thinking, "I love this!"
Crazy....

Funny, it was from my B400 that I moved up to my first Goldwing and had a similar feeling about that vintage 85 LTD 1200. Just couldn't wrap my mind around the all gold color. Glad you like this one Tom. Every bike is unique and speaks differently to every rider.

I think for my 80th birthday I'll treat myself to a Grom. Never too old for hooliganism.

I hear ya on the touring part. Our best days with that are behind us...but fabulous memories.

Have an idea though about a new adventure mode for the Mrs., the mutt and I. After our recent road trip we realized how much we enjoy traveling and had let too many years lapse on seeing the grandkids out west. 2018 already is booked for a trip to Anaheim and my sister is getting married in Oregon too. And since we're going to be in the neighborhood, we'll see the grandkids again in SD, Portland and Utah.

But here's the cool part. Thinking about getting a pop-up cabover camper for my diesel truck and mount the Kymco on the front end to counterbalance the rear load and have access to my scooter. The cost of hotels for a month on the road is insane plus having to eat out every meal in a restaurant can eat up some serious cash. Also having a doggie is hard to find places with outside patios that are dog friendly. We're naturally campers and love the outdoors which one can't get staying in hotels. We also had to sneak Toby in the ones that said no pets. Reminded me of the days traveling with 5 kids and had the wee ones lay down on the seats when we pulled into a motel for the night so the manager couldn't see our brood. Haven't had Deb on the Kymco yet but I think for short jaunts with the pooch in a pet carrier mounted to a top box rack we'd be quite the scene. Anyway, looking at a new mode of traveling with Deb and Toby as we spend more time doing fun stuff together.

Lots of good memories riding 2 up with Deb in Sedona, San Diego, Julian, CA.,  Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Pike National Forest Colorado, Golden Co., Highway of Legends, Trinidad Co., Big Bend Tx. Davis Mtns. Tx. I've put more miles on my B400  than any single bike I have ever owned. As the ultimate tourer though, my SW is King.

You sad to see it go Tom?

That is a sweet looking scooter ya got there, Stig. Nice photos, as usual, and thanks for making the rest of us drool... :P

Maybe can drool on his fly screen and wash off the knats, flies, skeeders, butterflies, beetles and some of that jelly donut Tom dropped along with those brown coffee stains all over that front cowling. Boy just ain't been right since he's been popping wheelies while slurping his Joe.

Major quakes predicted in your area...Rather peculiar. ....damages limited to garages only due to convergence of cold front and glue in CD plywood and/or Asian drywall, and various concrete mixtures.
Good luck.....
Stig

Hempcrete is stronger and earthquake resistant, a sustainable resource. Yep, that's what they're saying and....oops...a highjack of a perfectly lovely scooter...the venerable Like. If only it sported a 250cc for me. That's my lowest threashold for now at 67. Give me another 10 years and we'll see.

Ah, the Grom. Wanted one too but would have had to buy a new wife too. That little monkey bike created quite a stir in our home.

That's like nearly the combined fuel mileage of both my scooters. Your footprint is getting greener Tom, we're all proud for you. Just take it easy on dem donuts as it takes allot of resources to make a jelly roll.
