I've heard of multiple dealer failures - the most expensive (at the time) was a V4 800cc Honda put in for its first service. Dealer handed the keys back afterwards punter headed of down the road only for the motor to go pop.

They had drained the engine oil, popped the drain bolt back in, but forgot to put new oil in. And the dealer still argued the issue.

No leg pulling there Stig. On the sections of canal where there was no towpath (ie tunnels) for the horses, the crew would lie on their backs and 'walk' the barge through the tunnel by walking  on the ceiling. The horses (which weren't exactly yer wild west mustangs) were led around the long way.

The first time I really became aware of Ducatis was when a friend of a friend bought a 749 new.

I was alarmed when he started it up though - it sounded like a box of spanners being rattled around. He said that was normal.

And for such an expensive bike, the finish was really poor. You wouldn't dream of taking it out in any kind of British winters day. You'd end up with a pile of rust in your garage.

I'm still trying to work out if having my eggs over easy is a good thing.

You'll be having pancakes for breakfast next.

Fall? FALL? What is this foul Americanisms that thou doth spake?

Autumn. Always has been. Always will be.

We used to have flexible sidecars in the UK as a sidestep to the rules which allowed 'starter' licence holders to ride motorcycles up to 250cc - in fact my RD250LC two stroke came with one fitted. I rode it once, popped a wheelie and nearly ended up in a wall because of the pull to the left.

I have ones similar to these..

In fact I posted a picture on here a couple of years ago when I got them

Although the bike is off the road at the moment, I still plan using them in the wintertime.
