Xciting 250 / How many miles can I expect?

I recently purchased a 2009 Xciting 250ri. I was wondering how many miles can I expect to get f on it before MAJOR problems? This is assuming that I maintain it properly. I'm especially wondering about typical engine life. I know that there are no guarantees in life. But just wondering what most people get.

Also, what are the weak points of this particular scooter? Any things that I need to pay SPECIAL attention to?

Xciting 250 / Redlining too soon?

I just purchased a 2009 Xciting with approximately 5300 miles on it. I've noticed that at 7500rpm (redline) my gps indicated speed on flat ground no wind is 62mph. Also, my top flat out is about 72mph at around 8500rpm which is well above redline. Based on what others are saying, I was expecting somewhat higher. Acceleration is strong. My weight is 175 lbs. I was expecting to be able to cruise at 65mph at slightly BELOW redline. Am I being unrealistic? Or is there something wrong? I don't really know the history of this cycle prior to my purchasing it. Is there some maintenance needed that will bring my RPM below redline at 65mph?

Xciting 250 / Just purchased 2009 Xciting 250

I'm the new owner of a 2009 Xciting 250. This is mid life crisis gift to myself. Lol. It's my FIRST 2 wheel vehicle of ANY type. Will take delivery on Saturday. Was this a good choice for a beginner? Any words of advice?
