Like 50 2T / Technigas Silent Pro Exhaust
« on: July 10, 2015, 08:25:17 PM »
Hey Guys,
I'm back. Thanks for all your prior help & advice. My warrantee is finally up and it is time to start adding the parts I bought last year. I'm reading a bunch of posts to get back up to speed, however I do have a quick question. Gonna start the process slowly. I'm gonna replace my rear
brake shoes soon and I believe I have to take the exhaust off to do it, so I'm gonna bolt on the new Technigas Silent Pro exhaust while I'm at it. The scooter is stock with unrestrict variator bushing. The extra jet I was given when I bought the scooter was a M82. I assume the one in the scooter is smaller. I will be unrestricting the exhaust by removing the flange inside the pipe and cutting the tip off the end of the pipe. Will the 82 jet be big enough or should I buy a few jets (86-94) & then start my plug chops.

Gonna keep a record of performance for each mod to help anyone who might need the info.

Thanks

What is the ratio for pre-mixing fuel? Ounces oil per gallon of gas.

Sure thanks. Can anyone else confirm the dimensions of the Keihin jet dimensions? I got them at JetsRus. The directions in the cyclepedia don't show how to change the jets with out completely dismantling the entire carb. That includes taking the carb off the engine entirely. Is there an easier way?

Ok the cylynder ports have been camfered. After researching, I decided to do everything 1 step at a time starting with the BBK. Using original carb & exhaust. I am ordering keihn round jets (small) head diameter 5mm lenth 7mm thread 3.9 from JetsRus size 90 to 108. Before I order I just want to confirm with you guys that these are the right ones.

Once again thanks for all you help.

You were right it was a blown fuse. I used one of the two back up fuses and every thing was fine. I picked up three more from this dealership. I was riding in the rain. Good thing I picked up spares . I had to replace the same fuse twice now. I read elsewhere on the forum where someone having the same issue, he stated using 7.5 amp fuses and the problem stopped. I will try that if the problem continues. Thanks.

Still waiting for the carb. So I haven't been posting. However the electronics stopped working.
No lights, blinkers or gas guage. I checked the fuses and they look ok, would a blown rear brake light/taillight be the problem. I was able to get running by using the kick starter.

Received my Silentpro exchaust. Still waiting on the carb. Should I wait to install or can I install on the stock cylinder. Mainly, can the gasket be used twice or is it a 1 shot use and replace with a new gasket when installing the BBK kit.

I have a question about the Molossi carb. Did it come with jets or did you order them separately?
I'm ordering the 19mm carb from SPI soon. I'm gearing up for a 70cc build, see "Just bought a new Like 50" thread. I want to make sure I have everything on hand. I'm getting all the parts and tools together, gonna prep it then bolt everything on. Any information or ideas would a big help.

Hey Guys! The BBK kit and variator arriveed last night. Gonna try and order my carb from BandL today. I just need to get a few more parts & tools and I'll be ready to begin the build.

I'll keep you all up to date. By the way what size wrench/socket do use on the large nut on the inside of the clutch? Cyclepedia just say a special clutch tool.
