For Sale / Custom Kymco 500 Seat w/gel pad
« on: September 18, 2017, 04:15:08 PM »
Hey there -
I'm selling my custom seat for a Kymco 500 (I recently sold the scoot).  The seat you see here is a pan from a 2007 that I bought from a user on this site actually.  I did this so I wouldn't have to alter my stock 2009 seat for future resale.  Long story there to indicate that it definitely fits on the 2007 & 2009 years, probably 2008 too..  and I'd think later years as well.

I'm a tall guy (6'2") and the stock seat was pretty uncomfortable for me, which is why I went this route.  I'd be very pleased to get $300 out of it, as I spent 4x that to have this seat put together.  It looks as fantastic in person as it does in the pics..

If you have any interest let me know, right now its taking up room in my garage and I'd love to get it to someone who can put it to use.

Thanks for looking!

Jeremy, Seattle

Its definately not a growl or vibration. Its a chrip & grab. Those of you who have experienced the sound, do you feel the surge in speed as well?. My speed jumps an immediate 5-6 Mph. Maybe I grab too much throttle, but its not like I'm gunning it off the line.

Yes, it does seem to go away when it warms up.  But its odd to me that this has come on out of the blue.

Hey all -
I've got something going on with my scoot that is new, weird & I'm not really sure when it started.  I'm curious if anyone else has had this experience..

When I start out from a stop then get to about 10-15 miles an hour, my transmission makes a slight chirp sound and it 'grabs'.  When the it does this, I can feel the scoot surge a bit.  I haven't been able to notice the exact RPM/speed, since at this slow speed, I'm looking where I want to go, not at the control panel.

It only does this at a slow speed, but it is odd. I'm concerned that a surge in a turn could result in a loss of traction of the back wheel.

I've taken off the CVT cover and looked in there, but nothing seemed out of place.  1 "tooth" off the fan in there was broken, but since there was not remnant of the tooth inside I figured I got the scoot that way.  It was a little dusty, so I blew that out.

I only have 1,600 miles on the scooter. I bought it new. 2009 Xciting 500ri.  My dealership is gone :(, a victim of the economy.  Let me know if you have any ideas.  This couldn't be from something simple like the gear oil being low, could it?

Thanks, Jeremy

Xciting 500 / Kyurakyn Grips - You got 'em?
« on: August 10, 2009, 10:43:35 PM »
Hey guys/gals - my throttle hand keeps falling asleep on rides (even short 15mi rides) and I'm thinking that the stock grips are a bit small for my hands.  They feel small & uncomfortable to me anyway.    I can tell you right now that I'm not deathgripping the bars either.

I think I've heard that the Kyurakyn grips are very comfortable and larger diameter, so..

If you have them installed, can you tell me: (1) where is a good place to get them online and (2) what size to get and (3) if there is anything special needed for installation.

Any help yall can provide would be a HUGE help.

Thanks,

Jknapp, Seattle

Xciting 500 / Trade a 09 500ri for a 07 seat?
« on: September 29, 2008, 10:03:30 PM »
I just bought a new 2009 500ri from the dealership.  Word has it that the 07 is a "higher" seat (and the 09 is lower).  I'm tall, so a higher seat would do me right.  Anyone in the Seattle area wish to try an 09 seat?

Holler if you want to arrange a potential seat swap.   Email me at knappjeremy@yahoo.com.

My seat is in pristine shape - I'd like yours to be too.

Thank you,

Jeremy
