Race Talk / KYMCO UXV 700 and MXU 700 Racing
« on: August 07, 2016, 11:53:39 PM »
Well guess who fell off the forum bandwagon? Sorry for lack of updates, I need to somehow plug this forum into my regular list of things to do.

A LOT has happened in the past year with still more to come. I received an MXU 700 and it has been modified to race and is doing great...should come away with the Championship for 2016 in the ATV 4x4 class. I had different issues with the UXV 700 and will not be placing, but it's getting set up for a stellar 2017.

UXV 700 mods
Intake, exhaust, ported head, 14:1 piston, race cam, DynaJet fuel controller and wide band sensor, clutch tuning, Elka Stage 5 mid travel shocks 10" front/13" rear, tie rod ends and spacer for steering arm for bump steer, Razorback belt temp sensor, 27" EFX Motohammer tires, MSA M21 Lok 14" beadlock wheels, cage, race seat, clean air for helmet, 5 pt harness, aluminum door panels and roof, and just got the graphics on it a week ago.

MXU 700 mods
Intake, exhaust, ported head, 14:1 piston, sport cam, Dyna Jet fuel controller, clutch tuning, Elka Stage 5 mid travel shocks 9.5" front and back, graphics, razorback belt temp sensor.  Much easier to mod for racing than the UXV :)

I just finished the motor mods and will get them both on a Dyno for tuning and results shortly.

I have a long travel kit designed for the UXV, kinda spendy, but it gives you 1000 sport SxS suspension. 17" up front and 18" in the back using Elka Stage 5 shocks, +5 a-arms and Heavy duty axles with 2" of plunge and 40 degrees of misalignment along with beefy tie rods. That should be going on in the next few months.

Race Talk / KYMCO Wins WORCS and GNCC Championships in 2015
« on: January 01, 2016, 06:00:56 AM »
It was a good year for KYMCO.

Dan MacConnaughey won the GNCC title in his UXV 700 and I won the WORCS title in my UXV 700.

I have posts from both on my fb page. https://www.facebook.com/warpoffroad If you scroll down you will see my pictures and further down you will find my write up of the year.

It's been a busy year for me as I worked to get the UXV 700 from stock to a racer all the while racing it. We will be doing the same for 2016 with the UXV 700 as I continue to work on new parts for it and I'm adding the MXU 700 to race in the ATV 4x4 class.

First race is January 9th and I don't have the MXU yet....hmmmmm, might be an interesting year. :)

Side By Side / UXV 700 Race Build
« on: March 17, 2015, 05:03:23 PM »
Welcome to my race build!

I am new to KYMCO, so if there is any advice and pointers you can give about the machine, I would be happy to hear it.

I am setting up this 700 to race the WORCS series of races.

Step 1. Make it safety legal
Step 2. Build a race worthy long travel suspension
Step 3. Finish out the frame and cage
Step 4. Build motor

I will post up what I do here along with on my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/warpoffroad. It would be awesome if you would "like" that page.

Thanks!

Alex

Race Talk / Lake Havasu WORCS Race 2015
« on: March 17, 2015, 04:51:00 PM »
We'll be entering the WORCS race in a UXV 700. Essentially it will be bone stock and we will be building it during the race season so each race it should get better.
WORCS races are GP style. Usually combine an MX track with several miles of offroad to create a 10-12 minute loop. The SxS races last for 45 minutes.

I'll post up changes we make and results as they happen! If anyone has performance advice, I would love to hear it.
