Xciting 250 / Xciting 250 throttle cable
« on: June 10, 2023, 04:37:45 PM »
Does anyone know where I can get a throttle cable for a 2007 Xciting 250?  If not available then something aftermarket?  Links would be appreciated.  It's been garaged for 4 years, and I've got it running, oil changed etc.  But, the throttle is really sticky.  I tried spraying lubricant but it's not really working.

Thanks

I want to thank everyone for the conversation, fellowship and help on here.  I put my bikes up for sale today, and probably won't be back to the forum.  But, I appreciate all of you.

Thank you again.

Xciting 250 / carburetor question
« on: September 27, 2014, 08:21:31 PM »
Does anyone know the carburetor used in 2007 xciting 250?

As a side note, we are having a bit of an indian summer here in North East Vermont so I took the bike out for a ride.  While on the interstate I was really enjoying the looks on people's faces as they were passed by a scooter.  It's a new way to mess with the leaf peepers.

Xciting 250 / Riding season pretty much over :( :( :(
« on: September 13, 2014, 11:39:14 PM »
Well, here in Vermont our riding season is pretty much over.  In a week we will have a few good riding days, but then we are pretty much done until next spring.

But, that gives me a chance to chase down a service manual, and also to order a new variator, clutch and sliders for the Xciting 250 (need to look at slider sizes and weights though).

So, where you live, do you have year round riding, a longer or shorter riding season?  I know that many live where it gets cold and you still ride, but up here in the North East part of Vermont (and in the mountains here) we get feet of snow and we also get ice, not conducive to good riding...lol).

Technical | How To / Carburetor to fuel injection
« on: August 25, 2014, 11:01:11 PM »
Has anyone on here done a carburetor to fuel injection conversion?

I purchased an '07 xciting 250 and it's my first carbureted bike, but was thinking of getting a kit and converting to fuel injection.  While I know the specifics are going to be different, I watched a vid where a guy did this with a Ninja.  The problem is that he promised follow up videos (mileage, problems...etc) and never posted any...lol.

So, have you done it yourself? Do you know anyone that has?  Experiences?

Thanks.

Xciting 250 / Stupid engine question.
« on: August 05, 2014, 06:44:50 PM »
I remember seeing on here somewhere that the xciting 250 is the exact same motor as one of Kymcos other bikes, but for the life of me I cannot remember which one and I cannot find the thread where it was mentioned.  If anyone knows and could tell me it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

General Discussion / Tires
« on: August 04, 2014, 07:24:49 PM »
I'm sure it's been covered on here, but, I'm interested in knowing...What is your tire of choice?

I have (and absolutely love) Michelin City Grip's.  I have them front and back and they are great on both dry and wet roads.  If I had one complaint about them it is that they are so 'grippy' that sometimes they make me a bit over-confident.

I got permission to link to my scooter vlog on youtube, so here it is: http://www.youtube.com/arcanum70

Please remember that I am new at this.  The second video is too long I know, so I am working on shortening them.  If you do like them, a like and subscribe on there would help.

Thanks.

General Discussion / Question for moderators and members
« on: July 12, 2014, 01:17:49 AM »
So, I started a scooter VLOG on youtube, and my question to the moderators and members here is this, are you okay with me pulling ideas for talking points from posts on here?  I see a lot of great things talked about in this forum, and I see it as a place where people seem to genuinely want to help others.  And, since I'm not the brightest bulb in the box when it comes to topics of discussion I was hoping that you guys (and ladies) would be okay with me maybe pulling an idea or two from the forum.  Of course I would give credit and link to the forum if I do this.

Thanks.

Xciting 250 / New member, first Kymco
« on: June 22, 2014, 04:41:08 AM »
Hey everyone, I'm new here (well, apparently I signed up for an account a while ago and forgot about it...lol), and am purchasing a used Xciting 250 next week.  It's an '07.  Another dealership here in Vermont had an '09 (which I would have preferred since it's fuel injected), however they wanted over $4,000 for it because "It's brand new".  I'm still trying to figure out how a bike that is five years old (even if it has zero miles on it) is 'brand new'.  I actually stumbled across the Xciting by accident.  One dealer in the state had a Grand Vista for sale (a bike I have always loved the look of, and I'll be honest, the electronic folding mirrors get me every time), however when I called them this morning they had already sold it  :'( but they referred me to this other dealer, in another part of the state that had this bike (the Xciting).  After doing some research on it (both motorcycle review sites and this forum) I decided to get it.  I think the two things that have the most appeal for me are the tire size (since most of my riding will be done on state highways and back roads, and the roads here in Vermont are not the best, so the bigger tires will be a plus) and it's weight.  The weight I like because it seems like a heaver bike will handle buffeting on the interstate better.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, and I look forward many happy Kymco rides.

Grandvista 250 / Just joined
« on: January 23, 2013, 03:59:54 AM »
Hey all, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

This coming weekend I'll be picking up an '09 GV with just over 5,000 miles on it.  I lucked in to it for only $2,000.

I'm actually going from a Zuma to the GV, and from everything I've read about it, I have to say that I am looking forward to when spring gets here.

Unfortunately I live in VT and our riding season isn't as long, but it is a great season while it is here.

Anyway, thanks for having a great community and I look forward sharing with and learning from everyone here.
