Yager GT 200i / Maint Record Observations
« on: March 01, 2014, 01:35:29 PM »
  I wonder why your mileage is so different from mine. I only have 1000 miles on it
but generally get 70 - 80 mpg. It may depend on your commute...

  I noticed it is a bit cold blooded, will the waterpump mod allow it to heat up quicker
in the cold weather?

General Discussion / Vietnamese Yager?
« on: December 03, 2013, 12:55:09 AM »
I'm in Vietnam on vacation and thought I could purchase the side body accessory for
my Yager (not available in US). I'm not sure which model might be equivalent?

The side body kit works on 50 125 and 200i Yagers;

http://www.kymcorider.com/home/detail.asp?menuid=2&id=1709

But the models here have different names;

Any one know which one might be a Yager?

I may have to stop in Tiawan on the way back!

Yager GT 200i / Anybody know which model is the same as Yager in Vietnam?
« on: December 03, 2013, 12:47:12 AM »
I'm on vacation with the family in sunny Vietnam and thought I might be able to purchase the
side body kit shown on Kymco's global site;

http://www.kymcorider.com/home/detail.asp?menuid=2&id=1709

They work on the 50 125 and 200cc Yagers but here they don't show a Yager. Maybe
they renamed it for this market? So does anyone know which model might be a Yager?

Yager GT 200i / Yager Rollers 16 gm or 17.5 gm?
« on: December 27, 2012, 07:56:16 PM »
  I'm looking to get some Dr Pulley sliders for the Yager and they recommend going 1 gm
less than the stock weights. I don't have anything accurate enough to weigh them. On a
German thread they said 17.5 gm for the originals but I have heard 16 gm too. Anyone
know for sure? The official Dr. Pulley source (Buggy Parts store) only shows 16 gm sliders
which would be fine if the orignals are 17.5 but you would want 15 gm if they are 16 to start...

Yager GT 200i / 50 does 60 170 does 60?
« on: December 24, 2012, 07:52:52 PM »
Hmm this guy is getting 60 MPH out of his 50cc, on my 170cc I only get 60 MPH
it just doesn't seem right...

 He's probably 50 lbs lighter, has 40 PSI in his tires, rides only downhill, uses non ethanol
gas, has an aerodynamic windshield and so on but still he should be slower than me on a 50.....

Yager GT 200i / Interesting Site
« on: December 15, 2012, 09:19:21 PM »
They have 4 valve heads and water cooled 172cc cylinders, maybe where Kymco gets their parts?

They also have the latest greatest roller rockers (for the 4 valve), that's what gives the new Honda PCX150
and Piaggio BV350 their fuel mileage efficiency! Hmm they take paypal too. I wonder how much this stuff
costs?

Yager GT 200i / Tune The Intake
« on: December 10, 2012, 09:06:41 PM »
In looking around the interWebs I found this chart;

  It shows the length of the intake tract to tune for different RPM's. The tuned RPM can have
10% more flow so it's an easy way to give us a little boost. The stock length appears to be
around 22". It's a little tough to measure as it's the length from the intake valve to the bell
mouth in the airbox;

So it looks like we are tuned to 6500 RPM's which is where the torque peak is. If we wanted to
experiment with setting it higher we would need to shorten the intake pipe and put the new bell
mouth on the now shorter tube. This would necessitate an extension on the airbox to contain
the now shorter intake on the inside side of the air filter.

One problem is the bell mouth is glued to the airbox. The second is how to cover the new shorter
end into the airfilter box? Anyone up for some tuning?

Yager GT 200i / EFI info
« on: December 09, 2012, 12:18:17 AM »
I have found in the Peugeot Elystar manual that it's ECU has the same pinout as the one
in the Yager. I had read Peugeot used a Synerject controller. The software seems to be
different at least in the error code area but I found this reader that might be used to talk
to our machines?

I actually had one of these for my older Ducati (darn shouldn't have sold it!).

OOPS! It only works on ones with magneti marelli ecu's.....

Yager GT 200i / New muffler / dyno chart
« on: December 08, 2012, 11:22:40 PM »
I found this on a site today. It says Blade S4 Evolution muffler by M Factory for a King
180cc Kymco. I'm thinking it would work on the Yager. It talks about moving the oxygen
senser to the new headpipe. The most interesting thing is the dynochart;

53500 yen though, that sounds like a lot! ($650!) See the long headpipe? That tunes the muffler to higher
RPM's as is needed on a scooter. Most scooters have too short headpipes as the packaging is difficult.

The files are big and I cannot find the original online anymore so I'm trying to
link to a data storage location, let's see if it works;

Hmm. I guess you have to download it to view it, not the best setup in the world...
