People GT 300i / Just bought People GT300i
« on: September 23, 2017, 09:00:00 AM »
Keeping up with tradition to open this type of thread - http://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=554.msg179060#msg179060 - I am opening a new one.
Yesterday I bought People GT300i ABS Euro4 2017.

Here are a few pics.

I think I will have a lot to read about that scoot on this forum...

I cannot find part list online for Kymco DJ 50 S (last years, not old ones).

I need info if its seat is the same as the seat of Kymco Agility 50/125. The upholstery of my gf's A125 is torn, and I see there is whole new seat for DJ 50 S available on German ebay for moderate price, so I would like to buy it if it fits.

Thanks.

Technical | How To / Magic potions

I am opening a topic dedicated to various liquids, "goos", tools, additives and chemicals that can help an average DIY mechanic achieve his goals.
I am not sure if I have already opened such a topic in the past. If possible I would like to ask skadamo to make it a sticky in this subforum.
The reason why I am opening it is that sometimes such things are indispensable when repairing things. I would like that we discuss them in a single topic regardless of the scooter type.

Also, many of those have a common household name for decades in the USA, while they are not marketed and sold in Europe.

At this moment, here are a few from my side:

1. The ubiquitous WD40 - not only to lube things but also to degrease metal
2. Duck (Duct) tape
3. Glycerol - good for rubber parts to prevent them from becoming brittle
4. Bumper renewal black liquid, any type - good for renewal of easy-fading Kymco plastic parts
5. Teflon grease - great for moving parts like levers, center and side stand
6. Car polish, any type for old color coatings
7. Large displacement syringe for ear flushing + 40 cms of small diameter tube - great for refilling the final gear on scoots
8.  Small syringe - good to refill brake oil containers
9. Shoe mitt + painter's tape: good for isolation of painted parts of the scoot from the black ones during application of bumper renewal

Some tools:

1. 50 cm wrench to unlock vario nuts
2. Vario-flywheel holder
3. Brake caliper tool used to spread the pistons apart when installing new pads
4. Universal electric meter
5. Point and test electrical tester

Does anybody know of a de-rusting liquid that might remove spots of rust on suspension springs? I heard it does exist.

My second question is how to repair the connecting points of various plastic parts that get torn off very easily? I am not asking about click-clack parts but those where tiny screws go in. Is it possible to buy somewhere custom screws and mounting points that get welded or glued somehow to plastic parts? Or to make the question even more simple: if a mechanic gets a plastic piece with all mounting points torn off but otherwise in good shape, how will he mount it on the bike?

Agility 125 / A125 Ignition Key Assembly
« on: November 17, 2012, 03:07:04 PM »
I suspect that it could be faulty. Sometimes the scooter does not want to fire up and it takes several times turning the key back and forth before it does.

Any experience with buying/replacing this thing? I tried finding suitable replacement on scooterpartsmania.com but failed so far.

... since two days ago, it seems.

It was the last moped manufacturer in Europe.

Agility 125 / Agility 125 tire valve stems
« on: June 07, 2012, 06:50:55 PM »
Around last tire change (6 months ago) I told my gf to replace tire valve stems while tires are off the rim. The mechanic said that they do not have that type of stems, so the old ones were put back on.
It seems that I was a prophet, because today rear tire was fully deflated and after inspection I found out that something is wrong with valve stem - when I push it, the air goes out.

I cannot find in the manual any reference to these wonder-stems. What is their exact English name, what type should I look for, length etc?

Tnx.

So, world politics and economy situation... anything goes, but please, state some facts backed up with data and refrain from purely subjective statements...

To open the discussion: Is your country experiencing economic and social prosperity, is it stagnating or is it going down the hill? :)

We can start from here...

Agility 125 / GY6 trivia
« on: March 31, 2011, 01:41:53 PM »
"The cooling system is in part crippled by the internal routing of the timing chain; nearly a quarter of the cylinder bore receives no direct cooling. Aftermarket "big bore" cylinder and piston kits are available to increase the displacement as high as 180 cc, but engine temperature must be carefully monitored and full-throttle operation limited, to avoid overheating and engine failure."

Agility 125 / A125 main jet change
« on: February 07, 2011, 01:12:25 PM »
Did anybody try to replace their 105 main jet with larger one + open air filter + stock exhaust, and were there any positive experiences to be shared? Or should I forget about it?

Well, it is not scoot related, but anyway... take a look at what I survived yesterday. :)
