LIKE 200i / Best bang for the buck... clutch assembly
« on: July 10, 2016, 02:40:52 PM »
Just replaced the clutch assembly with a GY6-compatible kit from eBay.  The scoot has about 5,000 miles.

With free shipping, the cost was about $31 USD.

1) The clutch friction surface was materially greater (in length) than the OEM.
2) The whole assembly, including the clutch bell was lighter than OEM.
3) The torque spring that came with it was stiffer and allows the engine to spin up more, before engaging.

The results: butter-smooth launches, no jerking when feathering the throttle at low speed!

Part #11208-LGR5-E10
STAY B RR FENDER ($11.98)

Anyone have one of these snap?  Near the connection point to the transmission cover.  The other support holding the mud guard / rear fender on the muffler side is intact.

LIKE 200i / Cheeky Seat Cover (for the Like) - Reviews / Feedback
« on: August 21, 2015, 09:22:11 PM »
Has anyone tried them?

How's the fit and (long-term) quality?  The stock OEM is starting to crack, and also peeled in some areas, for my 2011.  Just the look is compromised, nothing else.

Replacing it with the same OEM is only about $90 through an online e-tailer.  Getting it professionally re-upholstered costs a shade more.

Any other recommendation on a replacement?  Or, a good experience with an alternate seat cover?

LIKE 200i / Performance parts - transmission

Clutch is starting to slip...

Figure while have it open, might as well switch to performance parts, budget permitting.  Does anyone have any recommendations on which parts (Malosi, Dr Pulley, others) works best for the 200i?  Kevlar belts, variators, clutch/bell, etc.

Please post the part numbers you had put on, and your first hand experience - faster acceleration, higher top speed, etc.

Has anyone tried to install a pair of these?  Feedback wanted.

Were the air canisters able to clear the plastics?

LIKE 200i / Like touch-up paint
« on: August 11, 2012, 02:48:13 AM »
Anyone know where to get the matching touch-up paint for the Like 200.  Looking for the product code for Red or something that's 100% compatible.

The Kymco site provides details on touch-up paint for other Years/Models, but none for the Like 200.

Thanks for the help

LIKE 200i / Rear Shocks - OEM vs Aftermarket
« on: August 02, 2012, 04:58:22 PM »
Has anyone explored aftermarket replacements for the Like?  Any recommendations / feedback on a "comfort oriented" ride?

The OEMs are par for its purpose.  Have tuned the pre-load settings, and while the ride is satisfactory, it's not as smooth as other scooters.

LIKE 200i / 300 KM service / maintenance - break in
« on: July 06, 2012, 05:05:49 AM »
The Owner's Manual states the first service be performed at 300 KM (~ 186.4 Miles).  Is that correct?  Not 300 Miles?

In any case, I performed the service @ 209.7 Miles.  Used 10W40 Full Synthetic, and poured about 0.85 liters.  Why doesn't the engine use a proper oil filter?  Instead, it uses some thimble-like mesh contraption.  The Gear oil was an easy change if you a little squirt tool around (or buy some kind of eye drop or baby syringe from the local pharmacy)

The engine is definitely smoother - during dle, hard acceleration, and at full throttle.  Hard to say if there's an improvement on its acceleration... will do the valves some time soon.
