General Discussion / Survey...
« on: April 04, 2014, 03:39:13 AM »
The United Nations recently conducted a simple survey that became a failure... The only question asked in a survey was:

"Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was a huge failure:

- In Africa they didn't know what 'food' meant,

- In India they didn't know what 'honest' meant,

- In Europe they didn't know what 'shortage' meant,

- In China they didn't know what 'opinion' meant,

- In the Middle East they didn't know what 'solution' meant,

- In South America they didn't know what 'please' meant,

- In the USA they didn't know what 'the rest of the world' meant.

General Discussion / Ran out of gas!
« on: January 11, 2014, 06:49:33 AM »
If you guys read my post about my broken fuel gauge (re: Vivo needs help), this is a continuation... Well, like I previously said, I will check my tank float supposedly tomorrow... but my full tank eight days ago did not last a full eight days... I was really confident that I will make it to the office today and fill up later after office ... I checked the fuel last night and it "looked" ok... Anyway, on our way to work, the scoot stopped about 150 meters where I will drop off my wife (whew!) That was close otherwise she would have gotten mad... Anyway, there I was, very early in the morning, on the street far from the next gas station... I asked around where I can buy gas because the nearest gas station is far... one man pointed me to a shanty selling gasoline (by the 1 liter soda bottle) to local taxis but when I got there, it was still closed... dang! I had to push my scoot to the gas station... I pushed for around 200 meters when a cop (on a Kymco) saw me... he approached and asked what happened ... I told him I was out of gas... he then offered help.. he told me to get on my scoot while he push the end of the pipe with his boot until he gets me to the gas station... As we approached the station, I free-wheeled in while he went on his way... Waved to each other and had my scoot filled... 5.2 liters full tank or around 1.37 gallons... nice morning!  ;)

Gasoline for sale by the bottle.... lots of them here

Super 8 150 / Vivo needs help...
« on: January 06, 2014, 01:54:01 AM »
My Super 8's fuel gauge needle was at the red (empty) mark when I rode into a gas station. After filling her up, I started the engine... the fuel gauge needle rose to full and went down way below the empty mark....just like that.  Might be a faulty sender switch... Any more ideas guys?

General Discussion / My son gave me a car for Christmas..
« on: January 04, 2014, 08:38:52 AM »
My son gave me a car for Christmas...not just an ordinary car... but MY car when I was in High School 39 years ago... Yes, my car... a 1973 Dodge (Mitsubishi) Colt 2-door....I already sold this a long time ago in the late 80's I think....  he searched for it for years, found it and managed to buy it... My son graduated from college last March and landed a new job just about 2 weeks ago... I bought him a car on his birthday a few years back... he sold his car to get me a Christmas gift that I really missed and wanted ... great son...  ;)  Guess what I will give him in return?...  ;)
