General Discussion / When do you say enough is enough?
« on: October 27, 2016, 09:39:26 AM »
Ive had my Agility 50 since june now and I love it. BUT I always seem to be working on it or doing something to improve it like fitting LED strips or changing the rear shock etc.

I sat down and added up what Id spent on it last night and it was A LOT, I almost had a heart attack. Ive now decided to just run it until it dies only maintaining it and not modding it like I have been so I can put the money that would have been for mods into a bigger Kymco...

When do you say enough is enough and stop spending on your scoots?

Agility 50 / Agility 50 parts compatibility.
« on: October 08, 2016, 10:23:42 PM »
Im planning on doing some upgrades to my Agility RS50 over winter. Ive purchased a 80cc kit and I am now looking for a sports exhaust for it (my standard exhaust has cracked so needs replacing anyway) The problem I am now having is, Its hard to find performance upgrades in the UK for the Agility 50. I have been informed by one of my parts suppliers that the engine in the RS50 Agility 4 stroke is the same engine that is used in most chinese 50cc scooters 139QMB/QMA.

I am hoping that somebody here may be able to confirm if this is true or not. Im particularly looking at a Stage6 Exhaust (I use their products alot) but need to know if a 139QMB/QMA exhaust would fit the KG10SA engine the Kymco has...

General Discussion / Took A Tumble.
« on: September 13, 2016, 07:15:00 PM »
It's been raining heavily on and off all day. I still had to go out and work though. While on my way to a emergency call out 40 miles away, I was heading down a dual carriageway (two lane road) and had a car try to make a lane change without indicating or checking mirrors.. at 65mph. I went on my horn, but the driver either didn't care or couldn't hear me over their music. I Could Not brake heavily to avoid being hit from the side because of a truck behind me so had no choice but to put myself into the hard shoulder.. which quickly turned into a grass embankment and I went tumbling  :(

Brand new scooter too, 150 miles on the clock!

Im absolutely fine, I was wearing all of my gear. My helmet is battered but did its job. Im actually glad that I wasn't using my cheapo helmet today. I have a bruise to my arm but that's about it. Another good one to tell newbies - wear your gear! Could have been so much worse. Ill be able to post what pictures I have as soon as the police investigation is done with.

General Discussion / Headlight Upgrades
« on: September 01, 2016, 09:22:32 AM »
Winter is fast approaching here in the UK and most of my riding will soon be done in the dark.. I used the scooter to do a quick run to get some pain killers at 1am this morning and noticed that the headlight on my Agility 50 really isnt that bright. I ride alot of country lanes that have no lighting so being able to see is a top priority for me.

Im considering putting some xenon bulbs in to replace the dipped and high beam on my Agility 50 and Ive got some LED bulbs on order for the running lights.

Before I go ahead with the Xenon bulbs, what headlight upgrades have others done with their Kymco?

I did do a search before I posted but couldn't find anything

Agility 50 / 2011 Kymco RS50 Agility - BumbleBee
« on: August 22, 2016, 10:09:25 AM »
Apologies if this is in the wrong section - Im new to this forum but not new to scooters. I have been riding since I was legally aloud to and have owned around 30 different scooters over the past four years. Ive had Honda visions (elites and aeros) Honda Melodies (spree?) DirectBikes Tommy (chinese retro) and a few manual bikes too! But Ive always had this thing for scooters, I just enjoy riding them more than I do manual bikes.

Ive had my 2011 Kymco RS50 Agility 4 stroke nicknamed BumbleBee for three months now, but have only had her in my actual possession for one of those months (you'll see why later on in the thread..) I purchased it for the sum of £230 as a runner but impossible to start without jump starting it off of a car!  >:( It needed a MOT too and was far off being able to pass one. I got it home and started on it, I threw in a new battery, starter motor and starter bendix and it fired up first try. Gave it a oil change, Did the valve clearances, changed the belt and put some stupidly light rollers in that I already had on the shelf. It failed the first MOT on the wheel bearings being too rough (i knew about it, was just winging it on the off chance the tester would pass me) but passed on the second test after i had changed the wheel bearings.

Rode it around for a few days (3 days) when I was heading to my first scooter meet with it and I got rear ended by somebody using her phone on the approach to a island.. Got pushed a good few feet before she even attempted to hit her brakes and ended up underneath her car. Somehow the scooter wasn't TOO badly damaged however my insurance company wrote it off as it was the parts were too expensive for them to even consider repairing it. I have damage to my left knee but thank god I can still ride  ;D

Ive just purchased the scooter back off of them after recieving my payment for it and have paid a very small % of what it is actually worth. It needs a new registration plate, A new rear mudguard, Footboard and lower belly panel as well as some paint work and new mirrors, a new exhaust and a new rear shock. Im waiting for the scooter to be delivered back to me when they pick up the hire bike, then I can start with the "mods" that I have planned.

When I first purchased it -

It had been used as a field bike so was FILTHY -

Gave it a real good clean -

It was the day after the last picture was taken when I got rear ended, the road got closed off by the police, The car was lifted off of me and the scooter by bystanders and both me and the scooter dragged from underneath it. That was the last time I saw my BumbleBee. I went off to hospital and the scooter got recovered by my insurance company. I do have the following pictures though..

I was pushed all the way from the zebra crossing in the background to where the car sits there...

In this one you can see where the rear mudguard and reg plate has been pushed in, It actually touches the wheel from what ive been told.

and you can see the damage to footboards here along with my lovely snapped exhaust (at the joint to the silencer)

So my plans for it...
Install a luggage rack and top box (I am a mobile scooter mechanic and need to be able to carry LOTS of tools), LeoVince exhaust, going from 4g to 7g rollers and fitting a kevlar belt. The drive boss and CDI have already been done. I have a few other Ideas in the works (possibly even a engine swap over winter) but Im going to spend some time reading up on the forum on possible improvements.
