The Michelin PowerPure SC is a great tire. Yes it is dual compound. Harder rubber in the middle and softer on the sides. This combination gives you amazing grip in corners yet won't wear flat in the middle from long straight motoring.

I have about 4000 miles on my front. Wear is hardly noticeable, uniform. I'm sure it'll last another 4000 miles before I need a new one. Rear is a bit younger only about 3000 miles on it. Wear similar as front, hardly noticeable uniform. Almost like new.

I can only recommend them.
They're A HUGE improvement over the stock doughnuts.... They turn your scooter into a different kind of animal :) much better handling of crap pavement, cracks, wet road, thick road marks etc.

The beamer looks nice but the Yamaha  T max aint bad either.
To stay faithful to the brand the K50 from Kymco looks very promising too...

Don't rush with the regulator. You have said before your battery voltage rises to 14V when the engine is on idle. That means your regulator is doing its job and charging your battery. However, the 14V is a tad low and is probably the result of the headlights being on. At idle your generator can't produce much juice and your headlamps drain the battery faster than the what your generator replenishes.

Your headlights were my suspect but didn't want to jump the gun yesterday. They should be off by default, no?. Don't you have a separate switch to turn them on/off and another one to switch between high and low beam?
What kind of DVM/meter are using to measure resistances? Most off the shelf ones would struggle at measuring such low resistances we're talking about here. 0.05 Ohms.

I would go around and inspect light switches/wiring harnesses, and continue from there.

Is this a continuous current draw or only present while the fuel pump runs for a few seconds when you turn the ignition key to on position?
If this current draw is continuous with the ignition key on, then that's what causes your battery to collapse after a short while.
That's over 60W of power drain. Which also has to create considerable amount of heat somewhere.

I am trying to help. Please keep posting your findings.

I've got power pure s both front and rear. They are fantastic. Can't even compare to stock doughnuts. I can only recommend them.

i'll take battery to parts store and do a load test just to confirm but i don't think it's a battery...something in the engine is causing a massive voltage draw.

Your battery voltage dropping to 10V in 45 seconds and staying there is a very bad indicator.
A lead acid battery is considered empty at 10.5 Volts, and your max. charging voltage should never exceed 14.5Volts.
Do you have access to another battery to try?

If I understand you right, you have a new battery in your scooter. Please consider that a brand new battery can be faulty too (partial internal short). Rarely but it's possible. I know from experience.
If you want to thoroughly check your battery, to rule that out of the equation, you need access to a computerized R/C battery charger. Using that charger try to fully charge your battery on the Pb setting at 1/10C rating. (for example: if your battery capacity is 10Ah then charge at 1A current) Then discharge the battery at 1/5C to 10.5V and see discharged mAh's. If you get less than 70% of the rated capacity out, then you can consider that battery dead.

I have some carbon fibre look alike tape in the shed to go over both handguards where the join is and a few other strategically placed motorcycle related stickers will finish the job off.  You'd have to be pretty damn close to see that anything was amiss.

It'll do until I decide on another screen.

Damn and blast again though.

 I totally feel your pain. Mine got blown over by the wind. Had the cover on in the parking lot@work (my stupidity. should have taken off when I heard the Storm coming...)Scooter scratched up badly here and there nothing broke luckily.

Try to cover epoxy best you can. It is not UV resistant! Sun will brake it down and so crack/break.

Google JC Motorcycles (based in Birmingham UK). Best customer support I ever encountered so far. They are Kymco dealer / service. They might be able to help you out with a replacement headlamp. Give them a call.

What is your secret?
It would be nice to hear your maintenance schedule/routine.
Is it preventive maintenance to the max or everything by the book?
I'd encourage you to write up a pamphlet on the topic! :)
