Thanks for your input, I had the clutch completely disassembled and inspected and all seem to be in perfect order.
Also the sound seems to be coming from where the exhaust pipes are  to me and not the cvt.

Not really sure, possible something is wrong in the muffler.

The base nut only tightens the stud. The mirror has to be tightened with a ground down 10mm socket from the top. Crappy design. The nut is not very thick, the opening for the socket is too small, and after they put the nut on they hammer over the end of the stud so you can't take the nut off.

I have the same scoot.  in black,  added two lights on the side of the fenders. for nite riding, and a top box with running, brake, and turn lights,  same as stigs scoot, bestem top box, with my own wireing for the turn sygnals

I have been thinking of adding some additional lighting and a top case at some point.

Comes standard with City Grips~!....and one heck of a serious looking center stand!

Yes. Had the dealer replace the tires since they were 4 years old so she has City Grip 2 tires now. Goes right up on the center stand easily but not so easy coming off.

My wife swung it by saying, "we live in the midwest - if we break down & need repairs. Which would be better - a Piaggio, or a Honda?"
I bought the Honda.

The Piaggio dealer literally blew away a few yrs later. (tornado)

How many scoots have you had a serious problem with? Do you work on them yourself? With the Internet who really needs a local dealer for parts?

So what your saying is the Piaggio dealer was a little too close to a trailer park? :)

Glad you are ok but that sucks. I do not trust anyone to work on my stuff this from working as a mechanic seeing what my coworkers had done in addition to seeing work done on family/friends vehicles. It a sad thing.

I take it by the banter I might not get a response on technical help for the MyRoad.

MJR----Burgman 650 does not require often belt changes, like most of the other "rubber band drive scooters"

Not normally. My '03 650 broke just under 40K miles since I was last in the CVT. The AK550 would be like the BMW in replacing the CVT belt which is also a rubber band.

No I did not get rid of any of my other rides, lol. Ok so I ran across a deal I couldn't resist a little over a week ago. I decided I needed some nice photos of her so I went out cruising today and went overly artistic. She is a brand new 2017 Piaggio BV350 in red. :)

If you were to ask me "should I purchase a KYMCO unit?"

Only if:

1:You can accept a lack of aftermarket support

2: Deal with a costumer service program that forwards you to a mailbox or recommendation to call a dealer

4: Waiting 3 months or more for parts.

Then buy a KYMCO..........

I've only found a couple of places that have some stuff. Taiwan Big Scooter Shop and stuff on ebay sold by androidextend.

I've had a pretty good experience dealing with Kymco customer support. Have you ever tried to get a hold of a Piaggio representative? I tired emailing and calling them, never did I ever get a reply or call back. They are definitely the worst.

Parts have typically taken me 7 weeks to get from a local dealer, even a drive belt last year so I must be doing better than some. I also can buy factory Kymco parts including those not for US models from the seller androidextend on ebay. If they don't list it contacting them gets a answer quickly.

See if you can guess on what is wrong with my MyRoad 700i.

33,000 miles, riding on the freeway I start to notice if I back off the throttle a little bit the engine feels like it cuts out. Riding longer gets worse and coming to a stop it stalls, it will restart and die again. I have to get on or feather the throttle to get/keep it running and if I don't hold the rpm's up it will die. I had a code for the MAP sensor (code 13) so I had ordered one. When it came in I tore the bodywork off. I started the bike and found that lightly tapping on the MAP sensor would cause the engine to die. Ok so it seemed the sensor was bad. I changed it out and inspected the connector/terminals which looked fine. The bike started and ran normally for 3 days and is now back to doing the same thing. I'm not sure if the MAP sensor code could be tripped by me feathering the throttle to get it started and keep it running to get home or not. My next thoughts are looking closer at the MAP sensor connector terminals of even the spark plug wires. Any prior issues like this or ideas?

Also where can I get part number 3620A-LEB2-E00 the English Kymco scan tool?

done what research I can----looks like 2 belts to replace, CVT and final drive.  How hard? and cost?  Valve adjust?  Sure would like electric touring windshield and how about heated grips.  Going to spend around $10,000 for scooter, might as well get BMW, which is Kymco anyway----and has easy remove rear wheel and electric windshield.  Bike has been on other markets for awhile and should have usual Kymco quality.

From the service manual servicing the belt in the CVT isn't as involved as say the Burgman 650. It can be done in the bike which I'm guessing is similar to the BMW's. If I had to guess the BMW would cost more not only in initial price but maintenance costs (parts and labor).

I found a downloadable service manual online if your interested. Google Kymco AK550 manual.

My first time https://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=24687.0 and second time https://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=27274.0 .

Two issues have been experienced by me and others. The stator going bad (not charging runs the battery down until the bike shuts off but may restart later after the battery comes back up) and the crank sensor that I had to replace twice. Start the bike and let it run until it dies, pull the crank sensor out, dip it in cold water, wipe it off and put it back in. If it restarts immediately then likely that is your problem. If not check the charging voltage.

About Ebay bidding, wait for the last 30 seconds to up-bid. I waited for the last 15 seconds and had to up-bid $450 to win. I can really type fast! The point is to not give the other bidders any notification that the bid has been increased until the auction is over. Play Mean to win! In the end the high bidder lost by $50.

That's what I have esnipe for many years, they atarted in 1999. :)

The reason Kymco brought the MyRoad to the US was mostly a market ploy. It allowed Kymco US to tout that they had the largest cc scoot in the market. Only 200 or so were brought in, one year only. $10K, many consumers balked as did dealers. Lot's of incentive were put on the bike along with long flooring terms for the dealers. It's a cool scoot but big and a bit top heavy but, excelent for long distance touring. BMW used the power train in their C series scoots.

It was sold in the US for the last two model years it was made, 2014/2015. I have know idea how many were imported in the US. Ive only known a couple of owners in all SoCal. Kymco started making the bike back in 2008 in other markets and from what I've heard it wasn't initially sold here because of an agreement with BMW to manufacture the engines used in the C600 and C650GT scooters so they didn't want the competition here. In the years since Kymco has taken over complete assembly of the big BMW scoot in addition to making the new 400 BMW scoot.

I waited for years for them to bring the bike here and I thought it was simply too expensive (price on par with a new Burgman 650 at the time). I then waited longer until a huge discount was offered on a new 2014 so I bought it in 2016.

Once I was out of the city and on a long stretch of straight road I opened it up. I was cruising at 60 mph when I gave it some gas and it smoothly accelerated to 90 mph. I believe the rpms were at 6000 for 90 mph but I chickened out when things got a bit blurry to me above 90. I am sure it will go faster then that but will I?

At 93 mph you'll get the "Speed" warning light turned on, lol.
