Mine did that a couple time and  after installing a fresh battery it's never happened again.

I'd also check the tightness of your rear axle nut. It can loosen and caused steering issues.

You should be able to find some used KYMCO 250-300cc scooters in your price range in the used market if you are willing to go there. I occasionally see various carbarated 250cc KYMCO'S for sale <$2000 and the fuel injected 300cc KYMCO'S for< $3000.

No, the Like 200 will not hold 50mph with you on it going up hill if the hill is either long or steep.

Please make this bike and be the 1st to the US market with a sub 500cc modern standard capable of maintaining 70 mph.

Mine tops out at 74mph. No way would I consistently run one at 70. You really need to look in the 300-400 range if you want to maintain 70 plus.

I'm on my 3rd stock belt with the previous 2 lasting to the 12,500 mile change interval. I'm thinking about exceeding the limit on the one I'm riding now just to see how far it will go.

I would recommend staying away from the Shinko 550 on the front. I tried one once and the bike never wanted to track straight.

I'm on my 5th Shinko 568 on the rear. I consistently get between 4000 and 5000 from the rear. I don't think I've ever paid more than $40  for one. If I take the wheel off a local shop will mount the new tire for $10.

If you haven't already replaced the battery try that 1st.

Replacing the battery with a fresh battery fixed mine when the starter was sticking. It's been 3 years and has not happened since.

I have a Daelim s-2 250 that has a KYMCO engine and drive train taken from the GV with 17,600 showing on the clock.

I've used mittens in the winter for years. When it gets really cold I wear them with an extra fleece liner.

My aircooled KYMCO 250 has started as low as 9 celsius without any problems.

The parts manager at KYMCO finally called me back today, say's he was out of town last week or he would have returned my call sooner. He checked with KYMCO Taiwan who said the part they shipped was compatible even though the part #'s were different. The new filter is shaped a little different so it does not mount as secure but after installing it and firing the scooter up, problem solved, backfire gone. If I had replaced this part 4 months ago I could have saved myself the purchase of a new muffler (($270) but you live and learn. The important thing is that my scooter is back on the road and with morning temps dropping into the 30's I can park my nearly naked Buell.

Axy, you win the prize. Thanks for the advice!!!
