I live in Delaware. It is tagged and insured as a motorcycle as per DE law. They took it off My property, making it a felony theft. Was definatly oportunist kids. The fingerprints looked like little kid size.

OK, I got it. The whole thing had been spun. I forced it back counter clockwise 180 and it seems to work just fine. Thanks. I got lucky on this one. The cops got some good finger prints off it last night. I hope they catch the punks.

Technical | How To / Theft attempt, now stuck steering lock

Yeah. They jamed a screw driver into the ignition to turn it, and were unsuccesfull. I was able to work My key back into the hole, and even start it up, but the steering lock will not disengage. Is this supposed to happen as a security feature? I could really use, and would really appriciate a little advise on how to correct it. Thank You.  :(

Agility 50 / Re: ..scootertronics?..

I have been there and had them work on My scooter. They at scootertronics have other priorities in life than running their shop. While I was there wiating for their laborer of the day to install My battery, wich btw was not bad when I dropped it off, all the conversation in the shop was about "Scootermike"'s band. They had a performance the previous night. I got a very strong impression that Mike does not work on scooters, and evey part they order comes from internet sites that You could order from Yourself. I can hardly believe they are still in business, but am not suprised they can't pay the phone bill. Be carefull dealing with them. I think some day soon they will be gone.

I attached My $40 ebay trunk the same way after the included "universal mounting plate" split in two. Cheap plastic, very brittle, but it holds My xxxl full face helmet.

I did everything to a chinese 50cc scoot (jonway) and could do 50mph on a flat road....for about 1000 miles, then it started coming apart at the seems. to answer Your question, both. You are crazy, and Your scoot may have done 50+- MPH    ;)

Your problem doesn't sound very different than the time I overfilled My gear oil. It ended up in some strange places. It entered the air box and dripped out onto CVT cover and pooled under it just like Yours. If You take off Your air box cover, You would see a lot of oil in there if this is Your problem. If it is, order Yourself a new air filter ASAP. Good luck.

People 150 / Re: Kymco People 150 engine
« on: September 29, 2009, 11:12:46 AM »
The P150 is a very good choice. Kymco is or was recently affiliated with Honda, and does use the GY6 engine. The confusion comes from all the companies out there useing cheap, Chinese made copies of the GY6. The made in China 150cc scooter that You can buy on Ebay for $1,200 uses the "clone" engine, and may get You 1000 miles before it self destructs. The Kymco engine will last a lot longer. I've SEEN P150's with 20,000 + km's them, and I've heard of scoots with twice that. I have had the Chinese one, now I have a P150. The Kymco is on the quality level with the Japenese scoots, way above that of the Chineese bikes. FYI, if You want to ride at Interstate speeds, You need a 250cc. My P150 does about 60 mph.

This is consistant with other stories I have heard. Aparently Kymco speedo's are known to be 10% optomistic across the board.
