Compagno 50i and 110i / Kymco Like 50i

Is the Like 50i engine the same as a Compagno 50i? Right now someone told me I only had to disconnect (cut) one wire to de-restrict my Like 50i.
I'm asking because I just read an old thread concerning the unscrewing of a screw to get WOT (Wide Open Throttle) as a result.

Thanks. I cut my CDI,....not much difference, so I guess next steps are to change the boss in the Variator and install lighter rollers???After that do I still need to change the jet (larger) on my carb???This is what I've read so far. AND ,THANKS for members' patience with newbies!

General Discussion / CDI question...
« on: October 23, 2014, 12:15:28 AM »
Forgive me since I know there are numerous posts about cutting the CDI casing.
I have a 2014 Agility 50 and don't really want to butcher it. Can anyone tell me what wire I can remove from the molex plug, thereby eliminating it from the CDI????? In other words what color or what function I may find on wiring diagram.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks to all for your remarks. The forum is truly a great place to learn. My Agility 50 is now ODOR FREE!!!! Same carb, but with a new gasket. The original gasket had a cut or split and was leaking. Thanks again Zombie for making me check this out MYSELF and bringing it to the mechanics attention. Garage smells nice again!!!!
Ciao for now,....

PS: LOVE my Scoot!

Dealer has the agility 50 for 8 days now,...I decided to bring it in due to warranty. He is replacing carb due to split gasket,...so I guess I was smelling raw gas fumes after all! If it's fixed properly it was worth the wait. I'll pick it up tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice, De Dee.
Will check that out too.

Thanks for the replys. Guess what!?? Yesterday I remember hitting a small pothole while riding, and put scooter away for the night.....NOW THERE IS NO GAS SMELL in garage or house this morning.  !!!!!!!! WTF? Something in carb maybe (float?) was stuck?? I don't know now,....so I'll wait and see after next ride. I also think I will check out the carb and lines myself since I am mechanichally declined ,oops! I mean inclined.

Thanks for your tip, Zombie! I removed the seat this morning while airing out the garage, and lo and behold, I got my finger wet with gas when rubbing bottom of carb. I will point this out to the dealer/mechanic on Monday when I bring it in. The odor is not coming from the gas cap after all.

Thanks for the tip. I will check it out ASAP.

Thanks. I recently (today) said to a friend, "could it be the carb?). How do I check this out?? Can you elaborate? Wherre is the drain screw?
