Super 9 / L/C muffler on an A/C Super9 ??????
« on: August 25, 2010, 11:33:51 PM »
I have an 09 A/C Super 9 that will probably get sold in a few months,

The old Technigas pipe on it is nasty in shape, I am curious if a stock muffler from an older Super9 L/C would bolt up and would it hurt performance at all, I have the largest jet in it and it's de-restricted.

I am almost positive it would bolt up...

Your thoughts guys.

One can be had new for 116 bucks versus another nice technigas for 170...

Your thoughts...

I would highly recommend the Dr Pulley weights!

I know for a fact they will get you just a tad higher top end from their design and capabilities to edge the variator just a little farther.

And they don't flat spot either. :)

Super 9 / Any of these variators fit our Super9???

I have enjoyed Dr Pulley weights in my Super9 for a year now and was curious if any of these models cross over to the Super9?

What performance variators do you all recommend and do you have to match them up with the clutch for best results?

So is it safe to say the People 50 and the S9 have the exact same A/C engines in them?

Thanks man,

I registered back in early 09 with the Yahoo group also, lots of info there, and I found Aeromyst and Scootertrog on another forum and they helped a BOAT LOAD!!!

Thing is I could 50 lever ground with my 50cc Super9 with the Dr Pulley weights and un restricted CDI, speed boss replaced and Technigas pipe,

A water cooled was a bit faster, keeping the temp down helps quite a bit...

Hey greenbean-
I think you will LOVE the 70cc kit- I have the very same S9- just went 70cc w/ the Moped Hospital kit, and the same CDI you listed. Also, i have a Jasil variator, red clutch springs, green Malossi torque spring and the Malossi torque compensator- thing. This  Super 9 now SCREAMS- literally. It will pull away from all traffic at a light and haul like a freight train, up to my GPS verified 49 mph( for now).
Best bang for the buck on an A/C Super 9 is the 70cc kit. Just look at your stock exhaust pipe and you can see why they are a slug. Mine was. The 19 mm Arreche carb is pretty sweet, too.

Nice to hear man,

Thanks for pumping me up,

did you install the kit alll yourself? and Did the Jasil and Malossi parts come from them also?

I am also wondering why your top speed is 49 THOUGH???

I tried to remove the tire tonight and am pretty upset w/myself, I put some bad scratches and took some paint off the lip of the rim, inner edge only,

I gotta get some rim protectors and the special tire irons with the bend in them,

Pics to follow afterwards, I wanted to throw up after I saw what I did thinking the rag between the metal and the paint would be sufficient.

Well, it came loose tonight with the Harbor Freight 1/2" impact, guess the PB Blaster I laid to it soaked in enough to work.

Whew...

Now comes the hard part and thats getting the rubber off and the new rubber on...

Before I started...

Went with the Avons as the local dealer got em for me next day for 98 bucks...

Finally got it off!!!

Oh yeah,

10 years as a service advisor for Honda/Acura and BMW. I tripple checked the threads and it's normal right hand on/ left hand off,

Even tried to impact it on and off, trick from the car world that sometimes works.

I really hope the PB works itself in there and gets the job done.  :(

Or I have to try and wrap a motorcycle style tie down around one wheel spoke and the actual CVT and tighten it down and sit behind it and force this thing off with the braekr bar and pipe ext on it, MAN it's work... ::)

Naw, no salt water, and yes it has me wondering if the Harbor Freight 1/2" impact is really a 240 ft/lbs machine.

If I can't remove it tonight I'm gonna see if it will take off a lug nut on the car.

I am hoping all the PB Blacter I soaked into it is working wonders right now and it'll come free tonight,

Thanks for the info guys,

Thanks again art, I was laying the PB blaster to it liberally and man it kept soaking it in and soaking it in, My g/f is pretty sure she'll come off tomorrow as I was shocked how much PB blaster I used and it wasn't dripping off.

I'lll have my new tires tomorrow night after I get outta work, can't wait to try it again, I don't mind using my breaker bar however there isn't a nice way to brace the wheel w/out the fear of damaging the wheel itself.

I had my G/F sitting on it and holding both brakes and I was using a 1/2" breaker bar, I was just shocked the 1/2" impact from HF wouldn't budge it, she ain't but maybe 112lbs.

Makes me think the quality is a tad les then the 240ft/lbs they advertise. I mean the lug nut son my Civic are on at 80ft/lbs,
