Thank you for the quick responses.  That's good advice.  The only time I need the kickstart is when temperatures fall around freezing.  The engine turns real slow and the starter doesn't want to hardly move the engine.  I need to bring it inside the garage, warm it up, and then it starts right up.  I know I won't need the kickstart but a few times during the winter months.  But it would be reassuring to know that if I drive the bike to work and it's 40 degrees out, I can still make it home if temperatures fall below 32.  I won't have to leave it in the parking lot because it won't start.  I am looking forward to more good advice.  Thank you.

I have a Like 200i.  The engine and components are similiar to the People s200.  Does anyone know if the kickstart from the People s200 would fit my Like 200i? The Like 200i did not come with a kickstart.  I see alot of aftermarket kickstart kits for the GY6 Scooter engine.  It looks to me like there is only a few different possible variations. I am willing to take a chance that if these aftermarket kits will fit the People s200, the same kit will fit my Like 200i. Any information would be appreciated.

 Thank you for your reply now we know that there is at lest one E10 rev-limiter out where witch will do 65mph. I am curios of how many will do 75MPH and how many will only do 50MPH and everything in-between.  I'm sure we would all like to know so pleas keep the comment coming!

Dear Big Blue, I know how easy it is to make a mistake in programming micro controllers like the ones in our scooter ECU's.  Sometimes wrong parts are substituted and we only learn about the problem after hundreds of units have left the factory.  Unfortunately everybody goes into damage control and the blame game starts.  I don't think this is a problem that any dealers or mechanics are aware of as of yet.  The problem I am thinking about is a little bit too technical for mechanics and repair shops. All I am saying is there might be a problem with the ECU's.  I am just trying to connect some dots. As of yet all I know is that some Kymco Like 200i scooters will top out at about 75 MPH and others only at about 50 MPH or somewhere in between.  Why the big discrepancy in speed? That is where some of the blame game has started, some say its a fuel problem, others say its an ignition problem.  Sometimes that may be true but that's not the situation that I am curious about.  I know there is definitely an ECU problem. If it is not an ECU problem why did they change from the M30 to an E10? Why are there two different ECU's on the same bike? Are they interchangeable? From a professional stand point I will say there are only two ways the RPM limit can change on an ECU “micro controller” 1.by changing the speed of the crystal oscillator on the chip or by  2.  changing the micro controller program. I am just curious as to what might have happened.  My starting question is how fast will scooters go on the M30 and the E10 ECU and is there any correlation?

Dear buddy buddies - I need some help! The Like 200i's have two different ECU's in them.  There is a 16100-LGS6-E10 and a 16100-LGS6-M30.  You will only see the LGS6-E10 on the ECU.  I suspect, but I'd like to verify that the 16100-LGS6-M30 ECU's RPM limiter will do about 70 MPH and the 16100-LGS6-E10 ECU's RPM limiter will do about 60 MPH or less.  Which ECU number do you have and how many MPH can you go?  I think the M30 was on the earlier models and the E10 on the newest models. Can I please get some verification?
By the way, in answer to the question previously asked, yes there is an RPM limiter on the ECU. See picture:

Loose ground on starter?
I think it might help my Like friends if I repeated my comment on "Re:Starting problems"
I wrote yesterday: if a starter fails to crank the engine or turns too slowly, the engine will not start.
Corroded or loose ground straps create a poor electrical connection and can create starting problems. Check the minus or ground wire bolt on the Like starter bolt, it has no lock washer or lock tight or anything to keep it from loosening up. It is also too short for its application. It should be replaced with a bolt 1/4" longer if at all possible. If that bolt comes loss your scooter will not start. It is only in by a few threads so be careful if you tighten it, you could strip it out of the soft aluminum.

Hopefully your engine cutting out was only a minor issue.  My first guess would be a vapor lock.  Considering the fuel tank is right above the engine and you only had a quarter tank of fuel I would imagine the fuel injector needs cool fuel circulation. Hopefully it was only a coincidence that the hot fuel from the injector made it directly back to the hot injector.
