I was specifically looking at the Honda CRF (2006ish) caliper as an oem BOOT replacement.  With that said, it's unconfirmed if it will work on our scoots.

The clone calipers are all over Ebay/Amazon etc..

For reference the China clone caliper boots do the job.  This caliper design is used by several OEMs, you'll need to do some creative searches, but it seemed to be common with the dirtbikes.  Those boots are avaliable as individual part numbers and probably better quality than the China clones.  I realized this after I already ordered the clone.  Ohh well, I needed new pads since they wore uneven so it worked out for my situation in the end.

Thanks Stig, I was afraid of that.  I'll hunt around and report back.  There are a bunch of china clones out there that night get me the parts I need.

The rubber boots on both the upper and lower caliper pins have pretty much vaporized.  The nut on the mounting plate was missing and the caliper was basically free floating beating up the grommets.  Yikes!!!

Where can you find replacements?  I can't find them on the diagrams as an individual part number.  Seems silly to replace a caliper just for those.

Killed by the kill switch.  It tested fine, but would fail under load.  Switch shortages can be a pain.  Grounding issues are so much easier to find and diagnose.

An embarrassing amount of time was spent, but it's fixed now so that's worth a 🍺

Thank you both for the information.  I ordered a dimmer switch, the ohm readings were a bit erratic.  The drain is on the positive circuit so it seems like a good place to start.  I'll repost back if it fixed it.

Greetings,

I picked up a 2013 Like 200i project that is rough n ready, however it has an electrical gremlin.  I'm stuck!!! Usually I can grind these issues out but not this time.  Here is what I know:

-With the headlight unplugged the scooter starts no problem.  New battery 230cca bigger battery upgrade.

-With the headlight plugged in the voltage drops to 10.5v (full 12.6 at the battery).

-I unplugged every light, relay, horn, bar switches, main harnesses to search for the voltage to return to the headlight and nothing.

-Tested the ground, 12.6+v from positive battery terminal to chassis/horn...all is good, no voltage drop.

-checked chassis grund and starter ground, all is good, nice and tight no corrosion.

The wiring diagram shows a kick stand switch but I can't find it.  (I have the cyclopedia manual)

CELP goes from solid red to 3 flashes during fuel pressurizing then blinks twice (low voltage..makes sense)

-tried a different bulb (higher watt) and the same issue.

-initialized the scooter just because

What am I missing?
