I see you have racked up 100,000ks on you KYMCO.I had a People 150s a few years ago but it was not fast enough for where I live, so 2 scooters later I found  an SYM gts 300 which I really like.I have thought about a Downtown 350 which looks a lot like the Sym in having a resonably low step through in front of the seat.{cant swing the 80 year old legs over the seat} Apart from your minor variator issue,do you find the Kymco to be reliable?

The thing is, the nut that holds in place is still firmly done up. I actually had a bit of trouble getting it off as there’s no way to hold the crank shaft in place if that outer pully’s teeth aren’t locked into the grooving. Anyway, what would have caused it to fail this time?
Everything else on the bike is fine. I haven’t noticed any other issues and I recently just clocked over 100,000kms on the old girl!

In Aus they come with a screen,I took mine off,didnt like it.On you tube a bloke named Hugh Leidl shows how to remove the windscreen from a people s.Sure you will find it interesting.

People s150 / indicated speed

I was wondering if anyone knows what the difference is between indicated speed and true speed on the 150.I know some clever dicks are able to use gps and/or mobile phones to check actual speed but I'm not that clever.I hadn't ridden for a couple of years prior to getting the scooter but 90ks just doesn't seem to be as fast as it used to be.

Hi Tromper,I bought one in August, second hand off a fella who because of illness ,couldn't ride it.It had 1 km on the speedo.I did the 1000k service myself(pretty simple) because the nearest Kymco dealer(where the bike was originally purchased from)is 150ks away.The 2year warranty will be up in January so I will do the services anyway.The engine oil should be changed every 2,000ks and the diff oil every 4000ks.Ride quality is good on smooth roads but rough on poor roads.It will happily sit on around 90 -95kph.Ive now done 1400ks and its freeing up a bit, I've had it to bout 105 but it sounds busy.I don't know what the fuel economy is like,it doesnt use much,I just put it in when I need to.I don't go to servos for fuel, I keep a 10ltr jerry can at home and fill up there.In Australia the bike comes with a screen and a top box,I took my screen off,didnt like it. hope this helps.Overall i'm happy with the scooter.Im 75 and been riding for about 45 years but got crook hips and shoulders so needed a scooter with a flat floor.The book says to use fuel with RON92 or above,nothing about ethanol blends,which I found unusual.

I just bought a 2018 People s150 and wondered the same thing,whats the gap for the valves.I did the first service myself,changed oils in engine and final drive,thats pretty much it.The dealer who sold the bike originally said he would send me info about servicing but I never got it.I rang Kymco in Melbourne in the support section and he said the same thing"i will send you the info".It never came,so I still dont know what the valve gap is.Have you had any luck?
