Thanks for the support (as always)!

It was the battery. I charged it again (and again) and then it didn't start at all - even with a full battery.
I now bought a brand-new original kymco battery (i think the manufacturer is Yuasa) and the Yager starts w/o any problems. I was travelling over the weekend and it started last night immediately.
I will check the cables and generator (esp. the generator was already mentioned to me before) and update.

hey guys,
the problem is re-occuring unfortunately.

actions taken:
-the light bulb from the tray is unplugged
-starter was replaced
-new battery installed (recently checked, everything ok)
-no rust
-measurements at shop all checked out fine

temperatures are ranging between -5 and +5 °C, but every time they drop below zero and the scooter is not moved for a night it won't start the next morning.

the battery model is YT12A-BS

I am charging it 2-3 times a week at the moment.
After every charge, the scooter starts without problems for the rest of the day.

I had described the problem to multiple shops and nobody can seem to figure it out.
Any ideas?

Had this issue, final cure for that was (because it will happen again) to remove this mini-switch.

Switch is located at/ within (part of) your seat lock. It's a square (8x8mm) standart push switch, can easily be removed when your undertray is off.

Sometimes shops don't have time or will to search on used scoots.

Sorry for the delayed reply. I was abroad for a while and upon return it did work well, but now the problem re-occured.
I did check for the switch, but I could not find it.
@Ruffus: Where should it be (see attached fotos)?

@Ruffus: thanks for the detailed explication.

To update on my case:
I did get to it yesterday already and checked the battery cables. Current was flowing fine. My Yager doesn't have the socket, so I looked at the lamp.
I then figured out that the issue is way simpler after all.. the light bulb was not switched off by closing mechanism of the seat. I tested it by taking a video with the phone in the helmet compartment. I then put some grease on it and closed it a few times with more force + some verifications with a screwdriver.

The light bulb now switches off and so far the scooter starts nice and smooth each try. I will let him stand over the weekend and update again, but I am pretty confident that this was the issue. Just beyond disappointed and surprised that both shops didn't figure this out.

Can you specify where exactly I should look for corrosion and then apply grease?

Kymco Yager 200GTi
13.000 km on the clock

Bought a new battery in December 2022, generator/alternator checked and ok, charging voltage ok
-> all things checked in two different shops in December and February

Still, after standing on the street for 2-3 days in cold temperatures (below 5°C) the scooter won't start.
Multiple tries until battery is fully drained. I then fully charge the battery and it always starts again then.

Both shops are kind of clueless - only ideas are that the starter or starter relay are broken (but most say, that this shouldn't be the case).
This is my second Yager 200 and my 10th winter - never had these issues.

I'm hoping someone here has had the issue and can point me into the right direction.

Yager GT 200i / Rear wheel cover - rubbing&melting on tyre

On my Kymco Yager GT200i the rear wheel cover lost its connection to the air filter (again) - this was already welded by the repair shop a year ago.

And now the cover rubs on the tyre and the material is melting and then breaking of as the tyre heats up and rubs onto the cover.

Now wheel cover is already ordered.

1. What can I do in the meantime?
2. How can I avoid this from happening?

To update on my specific case:

I brought it to the shop and it was just the sensor, which had to be cleaned. So I could've continued riding as well.

Hello everyone,

excited to have found this forum. Already helped me out quite a bit.

I have a 2009 Kymco Yager GT200i with currently 38.000km on the clock.

I am receiving the DCT Code 16 (I think, it's one long flash followed by 6 short flashes)

According to the provided list by MotoRandy (https://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php?topic=10311.0) it should be P0115 Engine temperature sensor fault

On top of that the CLEP starts flashing above 5.000rpm.

I already have an appointment with a Kymco dealer, but it's in two weeks.
Can I still ride without having to worry about damaging the engine?
