Yager GT 200i / Strange behavior after refueling
« on: September 04, 2013, 02:50:31 AM »
I have a 2010 Yager with 8000+ miles on it.  When ever I refuel it: 1) there is some kind of suction holding the fuel cap closed when I release the catch, and 2) it will stop if I don't hold the gas on within about the first 30 minutes of steady operation.  Is there a fuel filter that needs replacing?  Any others experienced this problem?

Thanks...  Duncan

Gee - I'm envious.  For about the first 4000 miles, I was regularly getting 87mpg.  Now I can't seem to do better than 75mpg.  I originally thought this was due to a dirty air filter and old spark plug, but I'm still mpg challenged at 5800 miles.  My Yager is 15 months old.

I purchased a tube of Loctite 242 at Loews for $6 to see if it would stop the burn shield bolts from wiggling out.  Turns out it this was a good move because one of the bolts had already come loose again.  Probably too early to tell if it will work, but I'm hoping.

I also lost two of the four screws holding the burn guard to the muffler.  Took months for my dealer to get replacement screws and leather grommets or whatever they're called.  I need to purchase and apply some loctite to prevent this from happening again.

I have exactly the same problem with my 2010 Yager.  Drive to work at 8am where the air temp is around 85F.  Leave work at about 5pm where the air temp is now around 110F.  Scooter usually won't start until I open the gas cap for a couple of seconds.

No one replaced their rotors or pads?

Can anyone recommend a source for Yager compatible brake pads and rotors?

Yager GT 200i / Coolant Flush?
« on: September 04, 2011, 06:01:16 AM »
I have 2600 miles on my 6th month old Yager, and am starting to prepare for the 3k miles coolant flush.  The manual doesn't provide any details of how to do so.  I'd appreciate any insight from those who have flushed their Yager's coolant.

Thanks...  Duncan

Yager GT 200i / Re: Oil Filter
« on: July 16, 2011, 07:25:29 PM »
A week ago, I ordered 5 HiFlo Filtro HF562 filters from DennisKirk.com (part number 304961).  They arrived yesterday (Friday), and I completed my first oil filter replacement in about 10 minutes.  The only snag I encountered was discovering and removing the old rubber washer as it had become separated from the filter body that I was replacing.

Now to find an air filter supplier.

Thanks!

Yager GT 200i / Re: Oil Help

Thanks for all your help!  I changed my oil for the third time over the weekend at 1190 miles, and used Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 synthetic oil.  I'm hoping that the oil doesn't look as 'burnt' as the Pennzoil Conventional 10W-40 has after each change, when I next change it.

Yager GT 200i / Shad trunk on Yager with K0YG58ST mounting kit?
« on: April 17, 2011, 02:38:00 AM »
Could anyone who has attached a Shad trunk to a Yager 200i using the K0YG58ST mounting kit post a picture so that I / we could see how it looks?

Thanks,
Duncan

Yager E - could you post a picture of your Givi trunk / fitment rack?

I really like my Yager. I have about 400 miles on it, with Givi trunk/fitment rack. Lots of room for groceries and the cages will be parked for most of the 8 miles to town this summer. Tons of underseat storage and with the trunk, seven grocery bags are no problem. I have other bikes but this one is the best for commuter, errands, etc. Very smooth, economical and fun to ride. Just wish I didn't have to go at least 100 miles for a decent dealership.

This photo is of our Yager at a Patriot Guard Riders function at a race for Georgia's Fallen Heroes. We camped out nearby and put her on the back of our RV, then drove to the event. I usually show up on a Harley so I took some good natured grief!

Thanks!
Duncan

Yager GT 200i / Oil Help
« on: April 17, 2011, 02:31:58 AM »
I changed my oil today for the second time at 631 miles.  I have been using Pennzoil Conventional (yellow bottle) 10w-40, based on my dealers recommendation.  As I expected, the oil was very dark compared to it's original transparent yellow color when new.  Should I continue using this kind of oil, or switch to a synthetic oil?

Thanks...  Duncan

Cool!  I bought my first two wheeled motorized vehicle in the form of a Yager 200i 4 weeks ago, and really like it.  As an "old guy", I only regret not getting a scooter much sooner.
