Ah Dallas. Not many JR Ewing's or cowhorns strapped to the bonnet of cars here!

Glad you enjoyed the pics by the way!

170 miles is normally when my fuel light starts flashing. Maybe you're a bit more.....errrr..... Less gentle than me?

Talking of burning fuel, these lads are my next door neighbours.

I luv 'em to bits..... But sometimes the peace and quiet of a wee bike run is very welcome.

Yep, the petrol station is still there - it's just grabbing one of the locals to fill you up that can be difficult. I used to fill up in Loch Carron, before climbing the hill  but the DT only sips the juice on a long journey, so I went on to Kinlochewe and at 188 miles I filled up...I still had nearly three litres left! Pretty good

I've heard of Barrhead Travel Agents! :-)

I'm up in Moray. Deffo up for a meet in the warmer months. Today was 250 miles easy with many photo and refreshment stops.....and none of the normal motorcycle  pain issues like I had on my last Applecross trip

It would seem that heading towards each other  on the A82 would be the plan. Glencoe/ Fort Bill area for lunch?

[Edit] I went camping in Plockton when I was a teenager (many moons ago). I've always fancied going back. My original plan was to go there today as well Applecross......but hey, why not make it two trips :-)

I know exactly what you mean!!
Digressing slightly, a few years ago myself and son in law set off from Lancaster and travelled up the A roads to Carlisle, then onto the west coast roads, we stayed as close to the coast as possible, Dumfries, Stranraer, Ayr, Greenock over the Erskine bridge.
Once passed Dumbarton, it was pure magic!! Still sticking to the coast, North we went! Inveraray to Mallaig across to Skye, round the island and back over the bridge to Applecross and then ont Torridon.
My son in law's bike started to play up, so rather than screw it up completely, we decided to cut out the far north bit and cut across to Inverness and then down to Perth and on to Paisley, my mum and dads hoose!!
Sorry for going on!!
Yes, your absolutely right, the B roads are bloody brilliant!!
I will have to do it again before I get too old!!!! Haha

Well I have a day off tomorrow and the weather is looking fan-bloody-tastic. West is best and Applecross or there abouts is looking quite appealing. A pic or two and maybe even a video might even be on the cards. Watch this space!

You're lucky in th US, it's a different market.
Here ins the UK it's not easy to find cheap barely used scooters.
Barely used have quite high price almost regardless of age. :(

It's all relative though isn't it? Your Kymco has a bigger resale value. The only way you'd score is if you managed to import a dirt cheap Scoot from the US and sell it for decent money in the UK when you're done with it. Taxes and shipping might sting a bit though.

I'll tell you what though, the lack of having to swap cogs every 2 seconds means the Downtown is the perfect bike for the narrow, twisty and undulating highland B roads.

I had a couple of sporties behind me for quite a few miles and they only got past  on a long-ish straight.

...and I was scrubbing in a new front tyre!

Good fun!

To settle any accuracy questions once and for all,  may I suggest  holding it at a steady 60mph past a 30mph limit speed camera?

Had the new front tyre fitted and put the front wheel back on. Tomorrow, as it's a nice dayI might head up to Dallas.

Dallas, Scotland that is (pop. 200), not the  other Dallas, Texas.

Should be fun.

Yes. You got to be careful. That stuff is slippery like silicone.

And far more effective than a high fibre diet.

Pretty good.

'Wild Hogs' was funnier though.
