Members don't waste your time.
It's(site) all about advertising.Plus logging on and registering is a total nightmare.By the time you decide you have made a mistake going there in the first place you have wasted at least 45 minutes. When all said and done you will spend another hour trying to get your information off the site.
Don't waste your time!
IMHO!

Technical | How To / nifty fake alarm mod
« on: February 13, 2012, 10:34:10 PM »

its a inexpensive way to steer thieves to easier prey,,,maybe! I had one on my old scooter and can say it would make anyone think it was (alarm) armed. Yes,  they sell the LED on eBay!Get two in case you goof up the first one.
Hardly any drain on battery. Get the kind that has the metal frame with a backup nut (not the push in type).
Most of it can be wired near the ignition switch. Also mount in an area that doesn't catch water (rain).By that , I mean not in horizontal area such as floor board but vertical area such as ignition switch. The Led is bright enough to see in daylight.Good luck! Video says it all.

Kevin,
I think the best investment would be on the drive train (kevlar belt and heavy duty clutch and or variator).
The best performance gains seem to come in this area.

I tend to agree with you on this issue.
How many miles do you have on the 'sup' and have you replaced any parts yet?

General Discussion / Forum font color?
« on: February 03, 2012, 02:02:34 PM »
Not to seem bitchy, but does anyone but myself have difficulty with the yellow-gold font color besides me.Might be my monitor's resolution but the  color does not seem to have enough contrast difference to make viewing comfortable.I don't stay on sight very long because of it.
Okay, I've said it! Sorry!

Technical | How To / tired of seeing shoulders in mirror?
« on: February 01, 2012, 08:24:54 PM »
I just installed a pair of these ,,inexpensive,, risers and shoulders are barely seen. They work for me!They are pretty small but do the job.Might be the combination of raising and extending mirror. Not a huge investment.

General Discussion / Rediculous
« on: January 31, 2012, 06:13:06 PM »
Does anyone here besides myself find it a little ridiculous that there approximately 18 models of KYMCO scooters.
We saw what happened to mfg's that produced too many models in the past. They got sloppy and started producing junk.
I have had my Super 8 less than a month and see that They are making a throw away scooter. When they make it almost impossible to repair them ,don't even produce a repair manual, almost make you remove the engine to get to tail light lamp.
So they turn out bucoos of them in Taiwan ,so what? I bet a Taiwanese person probably can get it serviced for $2.Which it is more like$90 USA bucks for same service. Most in the USA would service their own ,that is why no repair manual. I am not talking about owner manual with tire pressures etc. It would be more realistic for them to produce 9 models and be quality scooters than18 throw away models.
Oh well, jes an opinion not necessarily based on fact!

1) A bit of time (and cursing) to get at the tail/brake light bulb.  It doesn't come apart where you think it would.  You need to remove the seat bucket, luggage rack, and peel apart the side/top panels in order to get access to the tail light bulb.  And even then, you'll need someone with longer fingers to get to the socket and twist it for removal.
Do you remember how the side panels were removed? Were they clipped on or screwed on? I looked at tail light and saw screws at a very difficult place to get to.I noticed the key lock on one side.
Thanks

Here is one that might interest you! It is not real easy but very worth the install.

I think the green with stripe is brake lamp ,and solid green is negative conductor  the Brown is tail lamp and lic plate lamp

General Discussion / Re: AG 125 or Super8 ?
« on: January 30, 2012, 02:30:16 AM »
I have a super 8 and will agree with you about the lack of foot room.I am still wondering why I didn't notice when test riding it.
I guess buyers should have a check off list so not to overlook those kind of things. No scooter is perfect and probably there are trade offs.
Who would guess that some do not have a oil filter?Who would guess  there would be no repair manual? I must say though, I do like my Sup 8.No regrets thus far!

Kevin,
I don't know if these scoots use a condenser in the firing of spark plug , but if so that is a place to look .Cheap enough to just replace.
