Honestly it's just zip tied underneath, I'm planning on relocating it somewhere else because I think I knicked it (no harm done) when I went over a few speed bumps...

General Discussion / The scooter gave me the bug
« on: June 01, 2015, 01:28:19 PM »
Well, it's been less than 6 months since I started riding the Like scooter, I'm already in the works to buy another bike, got a bid on a Honda Shadow 750 right now on ebay, we'll see how it goes, I knew that I'd get tired of 163cc pretty quick, don't get me wrong, it's a great scooter, and i'll probably keep it for commuting, but just want something more comfortable. I rode around this weekend for about an hour and my back, shoulders and neck were killing me on the scooter! Of course that's the longest ride I've taken on it!

Yes! Change the oils immediately!!! The fluids that are in there (or lack thereof) are absolute crap! Just bought a like not too long ago, congrats & welcome to the forum!

Good morning all! Just picked up a People GTI300 a on the 12th and in looking for information on it I came across this site and glad I did.  I'm currently trying to finish breaking my scooter in and as soon as we get some clear skies I hope to get out with our scooter community here in SA, TX.  I look forward to chit chatting with you all and sharing my pics and vids from my outings.

Hey that's Haby's Alsatian Bakery in Castroville right? :)  I graduated from Medina Valley :) Welcome to the forum! I'm up in Austin.

Nice review Stig! It was this website that eventually led to my decision to buy the Like, I think that for the price, warranty, reliability, and the cool looks, the Like just can't be beat!

Well my review will be delayed, we flooded pretty bad here in Texas this weekend so we were unable to take our road trip! Was looking forward to driving the Like in South Padre Island! Would've made for some sweet pics!

Ok, sounds like a decent investment, I wouldn't want my scooter flying out of the back of my pickup truck, that wouldn't make for a very decent vacation  :o After reading reviews I decided to go with a similar product on Amazon:

I'll post pics and a review for anyone else that may be transporting in a pickup or trailer.

Thanks all!

LIKE 200i / Canyon Dancer for Kymco Like?
« on: May 19, 2015, 02:21:40 PM »
Has anyone ever used the canyon dancer on the Kymco Like 200i? I'm planning on taking a trip to the coast (about 6 hours) with the scoot in the back of the pickup. Wasn't sure if regular ole' clamp straps would work best or if it's worth spending the 30 bucks on this thing. I've read reviews that several people have had their handlebars bent, and I'm not sure how the kymco would hold up with it. Any experience?

For Sale / Re: WARNING about SPI Scooter Parts Int'l

Has anyone ever ordered from an International Seller on Ebay? I'm finding a lot of Kymco parts in Italy for some reason.

Just curious ...
what kind of helmet or lid kymco bikers usually wear?

I wear an HJC IS-Max 2 modular helmet (flips up). Solid white to increase visibility. And an added sticker on the back of the helmet to make me go faster.  :o

http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/hjc-is-max-2-helmet-solid

Cost was $180, so far I like it, very comfortable, the lens always fogs up though (haven't bought the $20 insert yet - but will soon). I imagine once it starts heating up in Texas i'll want to switch to a 3/4 open face helmet. I've had my eye on one helmet on Amazon for awhile:

We used to have 2 kymco dealers in Austin, now we only have one, and even he is thinking about stopping selling kymco bikes because the demand has dropped recently (maybe because of lower gas prices?). Hoping he doesn't close shop or stop dealing with Kymco.

LIKE 200i / Re: MAN, THE LIKE IS A SMALL SCOOTER
« on: May 11, 2015, 03:46:16 PM »
I was at the dealership this weekend and sat on the like 200 and wow.........small.......how can a six foot person do it >:(

I'm 6 foot, and while sitting in the usual location on the seat provides very little knee room, I find that I can still get by pretty comfortably on a 10-15 mile ride to work everyday. I was thinking about redoing the seat, but I can't justify pouring 200 bucks into a seat for a 2k scooter lol. Just grab cheap walmart cushion, put it under your butt & call it a day!

Seeing all these other likes in the different color schemes almost makes me want a different color!  :'( :'( :'(

No but seriously, Stig & Vespbretta, your scoots look amazing! As do all the others, but I really like the look of your two bikes :)

The tan/brown combination I went with was a compromise I made with my wife, she said it looked "vintage" ? lol
