General Discussion / boots for riding
« on: March 04, 2012, 05:32:43 PM »
icon- tarmac boots are good , not too hich or too low,,,be sure to know your size (they run about 1/2 size small)  when ordering and do not forget to get a long shoe horn (just eases getting them on),,,you will like them
when I took msf class my instructor spoke of hitting a bull when riding home one night night. He said he could have gone home un injured but for his foot getting badly scraped while sliding on pavement.Spent four days in hospital getting skin grafts. He was waring sneakers  (canvas shoes).
Needles to say , I wear boots!

Not sure I understand the question. The VIN number states what plant if that is what you mean. This was posted here by Rihana

Thanks all,
BooHooo, mine is LC2 (ROC)
The thing that worries me most is  tubing and rubber products. It's possible they are only assembled in ROC !

Anyone seen this? I was curious about scooter popularity in Taiwan and this popped up. By the way, I found out too late my Super 8 is made in China and I swear I would not have ever bought it had I known.Sob, sob! Be careful what you buy!

Technical | How To / Re: Kymco Super 8 brake light fix
« on: February 26, 2012, 04:20:50 PM »

thanks for the in depth instructions on how to get into the socket area,,unbelievable the way it is installed.Normally two screws from rear of bike and you are in,,,KYMCO needs to improve this situation. Like I have said before  "nearly have to remove engine to get to tail light"
Is your super 8 a 125 or 150 and what year model is it? My 2010 has key switch on left side .

fyi-This a basic course in stators and theory that cause electric flow in your scooter.May be helpful in the future for trouble shooting shutdowns etc. It is interesting to say the least.

OK it's fine to keep some info out of profile but to hide city and state etc, is a little overboard.
I saw a post that was showing a new scoot and I was wondering where it was bought or sold ,mainly to see if  in which country. Some scooters are listed USA but not carried by all dealers.
Wow! Why join a forum if you are not going to contribute to it?
Just a thought!

Super 8 150 / Re: Change lights?
« on: February 22, 2012, 02:54:37 AM »
On another site I read where changing to LED's were causing some  problems. They were losing all lighting. They spoke of AC ,DC mix  .Anyway, if your lights work leave them alone.Or, buy a scooter with LED lights.
IMHO

Super 8 150 / Re: Givi Airflow Windshield
« on: February 22, 2012, 02:45:34 AM »
I get a lot of unwanted wind too. I  am wondering if buying a piece of clear plastic (acrylic?) and cutting it to your own specs would be too difficult (also shaping it). There is the problem of attaching it to the original shield someway. Possibly drilling 3 holes and using rubber grommets would work and allow removing in warmer weather. For me 12" extension would be great.Probably would have to ruin a piece or two to get it right!

Kymco discussion board | Pride In What You Ride:
Made one post on this topic but don't see it so for the second time>   don't waste your time with this site,,,all about advertisements. Also very hard registering a real time consumer.
