Was out on a leisurely ride, probably my 1000th trip to the Home Depot since buying our house.  Nothing out of the ordinary, all of a sudden on a curve I hit a patch of sand and started sliding.  If it weren’t for those anti lock brakes I would’ve went down, and on the same side I crashed a buddy 50 a year and a half ago, my left ankle still bugs me on colder humid days.  Phew.  So glad I upgrade from my Lance.  I would be in a cast or boot right now other wise.  Time to change my pants and knock on some wood.  Safe riding everyone!  I think I will write a strongly worded email to the city about skipping street sweeping on that road.

General Discussion / Finally got my seat from Kymco...3 months later
« on: April 17, 2019, 12:28:23 AM »

Finally got my new seat I ordered from Kymco 3 months ago (dealer said they’ve been really bad about parts lately, sending wrong ones and taking forever). Because they did send me a seat 2 months ago, but a red one and not the grey one I ordered.  I know it’s kind of an odd order (I am probably the only one in the country that ordered a seat for a like 150). So it wasn’t like I was waiting on a necessary part to use the scoot.  Kind of nervous if I ever need a critical mechanical component.  (We’ll see how long it takes to get the recall pump part). Anyways not a bad appearance change for $55.  Although now that I have it, not 100 percent sure if I like the grey seat on the white.....

Owner of Vespa Portland, Andrew was so cool to go down to the shop on his day off so we could get a couple stickers.  And gave us a tour of the shop.  Very cool setup.   But when Andrew pulled up, Robot from San Diego Vespa (and YouTube famous for his Vespa how to vids). Hopped out of his car and had to get a pic with the Robot

General Discussion / Like 150i underseat storage for the win
« on: March 30, 2019, 07:12:11 PM »

Went on my 200th Home Depot run for the rewiring the house project.  Don’t know too many 150cc class scooters that I can fit a 250 ft roll of 14/2 wire, 10 pack of outlets, 2 pack gfci, and some switch boxes in...
And yes quite suprisenly (is that a word) I got the seat to latch.

@Snoop...
So, to get a glassclear confirmation on that topic: Does your answer mean that these legshield LEDs are completely enlighted from top to bottom with white LEDs only? And therefore without the potential option of using them also als turning light LEDs (yellow/orange LEDs) like the european models?

This is what they look like.....

I can't get the pic to show. I've tried pdf, jpeg, all very small. Just doesn't show it.
this is what mine do as soon as I turn the key on.

Yes they light up top to bottom with white leds, I imagine to turn them into turn signals would mean a part swap for the euro lights (they look completely different,
Same shape but different leds and layout)

No, thank you Robo - that is exactly what I was never able to see in other videos!
So, since Americans have the turn pods on the bars....is there anything that is lighted on the leg shield?
Maybe an American owner will answer ( my dealer does not connect batteries in floor display scoots, so I can't discover for myself)
Stig

They come on as soon as I turn the key on and stay on until I shut it off.  They are super bright and work like fog lights at night, lighting right in front of the wheel.  Love it

I'd be very tempted to stop on the way home at a paint shop and tell 'em to "finish" painting my scooter.....now that Kymco (& Vespa) has primed it!
Stig

Those Vespa mirrors are the best

Are those lights in the front leg shield LEDs??
Or just clear incandescent bulbs?
Stig

Leds

If your running lights aren’t working, I would bring it in to the dealer.  Should be covered under warranty.  Mine come on as soon as I turn the key on.  Must be disconnected on yours

General Discussion / Re: Recall on 150i and 200i-potential fuel leak

Most likely represents all , or most, of the LIKE150i scooters brought into to the USA.....and the final batch of LIKE200i's from '18.
Stig

Called and talked to my dealer today.  Kymco is auto shipping the fuel pumps out and will call me when they get it in

Thanks for the info.
Just the 2018 LKE200i models folks. (323 scooters)

And the 2018 & 2019 LIKE150i models (910 scooters involved)

See the site above to check your VIN.

Stig

Well.  Mines effected.  Wonder how long it will take to get the new fuel pump
