Thanks, I've tried 2 different mods to the seat, oh well, I'll keep it posted for sale, and hope it fit someone or in a month or 2 waste more money modding the seat. I'll try a different shop.

Downtown 300 / Handlebar risers
« on: May 13, 2018, 12:00:29 AM »
Hi, anyone installed some handlebar risers? If so what size and height, my seat mo didn't work out well, seat is now unusable, so I just ordered a new seat today. I was trying to create some legroom, so now I'm wanting to trying some up and back risers. I haven't been able to enjoy or ride the scoot because the seating position is horrible for me, and can't seem to sell it either. I finally had a buyer today after listing my scooter last March, he test drove it today and said it's too cramped. So risers anyone, and if so which ones? Thanks, I have to try this and keep the scoot, otherwise, it will sit in garage for another year or until I can get it sold.

My seat is at the shop being re modified, I took the fabric off and added 3” foam to the seating area, and it felt great, it gave me the room I needed, I also had the butt stop moved back 4”. So I can’t wait to get it back to see how it feels, what I did was a test, and then took it to a upholstery shop to fix it.

For Sale / Re: 2012 Kymco Downtown for Sale

Actually, I've been trying to sell it since last year, I just returned to this forum, and I'm not quitting riding, I just need to get a step through scoot or something where I can stretch my leg. The ergonomics on this one isn't working. I had the butt stop moved back, but that didn't help. If u know someone, I'm willing to go lower on the price so I can hurry and get something else. Scoot sells is non existent here.

For sale a white downtown 300 with 6795 miles, I had the seat redone yesterday to move butt stop back 4 inches and went with a beige cover instead of bblack, to cut down on the heat. Ive owned th scoot for 1 year but only rode it twice around the corner. Gas and oil has been changed, ive never had a chance to enjoy the scoot. Had knee surgery last year and the seat space will not work for me. Asking $2700 or best offer, Houston texas. Clear title, also replaced the battery last year right after I brought it.

burgman 400 is fixed and back on the road, it did not need a clutch, only a needle bearing that cost $25 and replaced the belt for $190

i know, that's why I'm going back to Kymco or get a Majesty, but at least on the 400 the parts only about $400 for a clutch and belt

At first I was scared to buy a burgman 400 because of the weight, and was reading and comparing, so I decided on a people s250. Kept it for a while and sold it, and decided to try a Burgman after all, the weight isn't noticeable at all, it's more nimble and lighter than I thought. After owning it and joining the burgy forum, believe it or not, a lot that weight comes from the huge muffler. I told my husband I've been missing out, this scoot isn't heavy. But i do like Kymco scoots too, and might get a downtown later. But my dream bike is Bv 350, I miss my bv 200, but couldn't get on that highway.

there's no vibration, if you had that, maybe a bad wheel bearing or something, and the 500 is smoother and quicker off the line noticeably
