Sorry guys....Actually there is too much going on at home this weekend...won't be there.
Now don't slack off on me though (ha ha)

400racer....I went out and me and my son have a race course set up on my property. It starts out in the field and ends up in the woods (modeled after the courses you guys race).
The trails were originally cut for his MXU150. I have widened them here and there. But I was racing against him on our 300. I could keep him at bay on it because it is fast and nimble.
Then I fired up the 500 and went out and tried to race the same way....NOT....the 500 beast I have is definitley not a racer..way too heavy with those big tires. I won't be racing with all that stuff (winch, big tires, racks).
I really need to have two - one racer and one 4WD mud machine.

Oh well.....I can appreciate why you guys try to get the weight down and use smaller tires more... :)

Dang Ken....don't put me on the spot. :-[
Yeah your right....I'll be there.

It's funny....I think my birthday is when I have least say so in what I do...crazy huh ???

Hey Jordan....I won't be making it to Steele Creek (Although I would love to be there). That weekend is my birthday (I'll be turning 26...ok.....36.....huh...ok....keep going...... ;)) and I have some other plans.

Do you think it will be as muddy and tough as it was here at Washington, GA.?
That place was like how it is where I ride at BroadRiver (wet/muddy/treacherous trails, etc)....I can imagine how it was out there in the race...

JR Motorsports (who posted up above) is the dealer I bought my Kymco's from....he (Jon) has been after me to come out and race my 500. I am thinking about it.....

Jon....Hey glad to see you on here.

I am trying to get  a set of the a-arms and front shocks that the guys racing are using...then maybe I'll think about racing the beast. Of course I would strip to racks and remove the winch for racing ....that would help a ton.

Do they (sorcs) race at Aonia Pass and BroadRiver? I want to at least get my son into one of them.

I am not going to pretend to blow smoke up any of your arses.......
Not quite sure what you mean by that ???.....
But anyaway, you won't me making a mistake buying the MXU150. I bought one for my son in Nov. 2006. It has been the best machine for him and I am so glad that I decided to buy it for him. I was a little unsure about getting him a 150 for his first quad, but he mastered it in no time.
It has been trouble free for the most part (one time a wire rubbed through againstthe frame and caused it to go dead) and has had no major problems. Replaced the rear brakes once, spark plug once and recently had to clean out the carb. It has a bout 1300 miles on it now.
it is a great all around machine for a youngster.

Race Talk / GNCC - new scoring system

So,  I was reading where they were going to do away with the barcode scanners at the scoring checkpoints and go to a transponder system.

Racers....can you comment on this? (what do you think, is this better for you, etc.)

Here is a piston and cam for the 300

http://www.powroll.com/P_KYMCO_300.htm

I have the 07 and am looking at the clutch mod, cam and piston.  who sells a pipe kit?

I know that DesertToyz,com has a Mongoose300 pipe setup - http://deserttoyz.com/DesertToyzCatalog.pdf

I think maybe Powroll is going to eventually come out with one ....not 100% sure though...

Yeah.....thats the part I am talking about. The main clutch, which is behind the primary (behind the drive pully and rollers) . Looks like there are 9 bolts that hold on the clutch housing and the centrifical clutch is behind it.
The service manual does not go into any detail about the springs and weights (although it shows them in an exploded view) only inspects the clutch shoes for wear.

Be nice to get inside there and play around with the weights and springs. I don't have the expertise to dive into that area (ok I am chicken)....maybe one of you guys will ;)
I wonder if EPI has weights and springs for the main clutch ( I have only seen roller weights and torque springs).

We talk alot about the secondary spring and roller weights....how about the wet clutch assembly itself. Seems like that is a good place to alter stall speed too.

Have any of you guys looked in that area? Could we lighted the clutch weights there (or would you make them heavier...I get confused on that one?)

I got to ride good bit this weekend (finally). The Orange spring is really a great improvement over stock. It is not a night or day switch but if this really is a great setup now..
I got a tell you, my 500 seems to get faster and quicker everytime I ride it . It was really responsive on the trails and really poured on in the open. The thing seemed to really be making horsepower today. I let my son ride the 500 around a little in the parking lot and he would just start rolling and he would punch the throttle just a little it and he would spin the tires and sling the back end  a round. It really looked powerful when he was doing that. Those 26" XTR's are no problem to turn!
Man , that AC pipe sounded like a race car too...eeks..I didn't know it sounded that loud from behind. Sounded bad a%% for sure though ;D

I still want to try the White spring though just so I will know how it does...not sure when I'll get to it though.
Ken...you said the white spring was too stiff for you....what is the effect on the track? Loses top end?

In all seriousness.....I really do look forward to you guys beating the Can-Am guys this year to. I seen you guys pull out in front of them and I know you did it several times....I'd love to see you bring it home at the end of the race. The better you guys do, the better it makes us regular riders feel even more that we are riding a great machine as well.....Ok , enough of that....back to the smack talk ;)

He told me he wanted to give you other guys a better chance of keeping up with him... said he didn't want to have to wait so long at the podium , waiting on you guys to finish or something like that...ha ha....just kidding of course ;D

YES on an mxu375 in PRO class.

This will be fun. Don't most of the courses on the WPSA Pro circuits have the log crossings  and rock crossings? Or is that just the QuadTerrain series?....
Those have always looked the most treacherous on the races I have seen on tv.

That will test the MXU375 IRS for sure.
