Bet & Win 150 / Max rpm is 5000
« on: September 16, 2023, 03:58:51 PM »
My B&W 150 wont accelerate above 5000 rpm. The throttle cable is correctly adjusted. I replaced the 13g rollers with 11.5g rollers and still no difference. The belt is new. The spark plug is new. I put new premium gasoline in it.  Suggestions?

I read some other threads and will look into possible vacuum leaks - lines, intake manifold, diaphragm. thx.

Bet & Win 150 / Variator Roller dimensions
« on: September 05, 2023, 02:47:33 PM »
Naive questions.
1) When measuring the size of the variator rollers with a digital caliper should I round up the values to the next whole number to order the correct size? Example: 19.87mm -> 20 and 14.92 -> 15.
2) Should replacement rollers be identical size, or can I install slightly smaller size (to get less weight)?
3) I'm having trouble locating a good US supplier that can deliver rollers within 2-3 days. Suggestions?

Bet & Win 150 / Fix muffler?
« on: August 23, 2022, 11:10:16 PM »
The muffler on my B&W150 has a loose part inside of it, which makes an annoying rattle.  The muffler's exterior is in good shape, so I plan to cut it open, remove the loose piece and weld it back together, minus the loose part.  I'm curious if anyone has experience cutting a Kymco muffler open? Where did you make the cut?  I'm thinking of cutting here. Thoughts?

Bet & Win 150 / How to remove the timing mark cover

What's the best tool to remove the timing mark cover?  I've tried a large screwdriver, but it's just ruining the cap.

Bet & Win 150 / Rebuild engine, replace engine, sell as is?
« on: July 30, 2022, 03:17:32 PM »
Over the winter, I examined and rebuilt/replaced everything on my 2007 B&W 150, except for the engine - new tires, antifreeze, drive belt, variator rollers... you get the idea. She was ready to sell. Wouldn't you know it, but on a test ride, I believe the engine blew. I have not opened it up to verify that, but I'm pretty confident of that issue. (Engine noise + engine stop = blown engine.) I have zero experience rebuilding engines, and I have no special tools needed for such a task. Obviously, I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and enjoy a challenge. So, my options are: 1) Rebuild it myself buying the needed tools along the way.  2) Have a dealership rebuild it for me. 3) Have a local small engine repair shop rebuild it for me. 4) Replace the engine with a different one. 5) Sell it / trade it for a different scooter, as is.

I'd like anyone's thoughts on what you would do, if this was your scoot. Thx.

Yager GT 200i / Starter dragging issue
« on: June 03, 2022, 02:16:14 PM »
The starter on my 2010 Yager 200i labors when cranking the engine. I've cleaned and checked all wiring connections. Any other ideas of the cause? Thx.

Bet & Win 150 / Need help with unknown tubing
« on: April 24, 2022, 06:30:22 PM »
My B&W 150 has been sitting in storage for a couple years, so I'm going thru all the steps to prep it for riding - new gas, new oil, gaskets, fuel lines, clean carb, etc. While getting ready to access the fuel lines so I can drain the fuel tank (located under the scoot), I discovered this pink tubing with one end rotted off. The opposite end lays loose in the plastic pan that protects the gas tank and is not connected to anything, so I assume that it is an overflow line of some sort. But, the rotted end (see photo) is a mystery where it connects?? Thoughts? thx.
