Turned out to be an easy fix.  Adjusted the mixture screw on the carburetor and that solved the problem.

Had no spark, found a shorted wire on the pulser coil, now the bike will idle for a few seconds and then die.  Dies instantly if you try to increase speed with the throtle.  Do I have a spark problem or fuel problem?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

General Discussion / Super 8 150cc front brake wobble
« on: November 17, 2009, 08:38:05 AM »
The riotor looks and feels fine, but when you press on the front brakes moderate to hard, it makes the whole front end shake and wobble.  Any ideas what I should check to correct this problem?  Could this be  a warranty issue?

General Discussion / Super 8, 150cc kick start

Has anyone noticed that you can't use the kick start unless the scooter is on the center stand?  If the scooter is not on the  center stand, the tab on the center stand mechanically interferes with the kick start!   What kind of an engineering is that?

My dealer is covering the "Instrument cluster fogging up after the rain" under warranty.  They have ordered a new instrument cluster and will install it, after they receive it.  According to the factory, this is a warranty repair item.

Rocky:

The fogging issue will be covered under warranty soon, I hope.  The rear rack is not plastic, but aluminum, and quite thick and sturdy.  I have mounted a rear trunk on mine, so I know how thick the aluminum was, when I was drilling.  It looks quite nice acturally.  Coud send you a picture, if you'd like to see it.  Andy  andrew54915@yahoo.com

Hi Rocky:

I bought my 2009 Super 8, 150cc a couple of months ago, and I love it.  I don't know how the floorboard space compares to the People model, but there is sufficient space for my size 12 shoes!  Top speed is about 65 MPH.  The only issue that I have had so far, is that my instrument cluster fogs up after a rain.

General Discussion / Instrument Cluster fogging up after rain.

My dealer is telling me that it is normal for the instrument cluster to fog up after a rain and that it is not a warranty issue.  Has anyone also had this problem?  I have a 2009 Kymco, Super 8, 150cc scooter.

Does anyone have a recommendation for the best synthetic motor oil and transmission fluid that I should use in my new motor scooter?
