General Discussion / Re: My new Can-Am Ryker Rally
« on: August 18, 2024, 10:22:09 PM »
It's very quick! I have done a few accidental burn outs taking off from a red light. Had up to 70MPH on the highway and it was nowhere near max throttle. It supposedly has a top speed of just over 100MPH but I will probably never see it.

As far as the steering goes, it is a little more effort that a bike, but I'm getting used to it. A 2 wheel bike leans to the inside of the curve and you lean with it also to the inside The trike wants to lean to the outside of the curve and you have to lean against it to the inside. Definitely have to take the turns slower.

Potholes and road debris are a lot harder to avoid. If you can't go left or right around it you can try to aim so it is just inside one of the front wheels so it misses both the front and back wheels. I do end up rolling over more things than I do with my People.

Last week I got a new (2023) Can-Am Ryker Rally. It's a 900cc 3 wheeler and has a CVT to a shaft drive. The controls are a throttle and one brake pedal. No hand levers at all.

Talking about Roundabouts always reminds me of this scene.

Just noticed he has a second video where he makes it into a 3 wheeler. Seems to work a lot better.

General Discussion / Modified Agility 125 video

I came across this youtube video of this guy putting a body and roll cage on an Agility 125 and thought I'd share.
Interesting idea, but when he finally gets it done (video is over an hour long!) it looks like it handles like crap. Probable all the extra weight and higher center of gravity.

If you don't mind sharing, what are the part numbers for the exhaust and where did you purchase it?

Did it bolt straight on with no mods?

I am considering upgrading my 2012 stock exhaust and I would appreciate the info. Thanks.

LIKE 200i / Re: Not the same ol tire question

I don't know what size tires you need for your Like 200i, but racingplanetusa.com shows they have the City Grip 2 for my People GTI 300 (110/70-16 and 140/70-16).

General Discussion / Re: Did a Top Speed run this morning
« on: July 24, 2022, 02:58:45 AM »
I've had my People GTI 300 up to 90 MPH on the speedo, don't know how accurate that is, but I believe its pretty close. I can easily keep up with 70 to 75 MPH traffic on the Highways. It's good to be able to get out of the way of crazy/bad drivers.

General Discussion / Re: rising gas prices

That was my understanding too KK, but it’s gone awfully quiet on that front. Too many vested interests in the ICE infrastructure- and now maybe battery technologies?…

Hydrogen still requires breaking down water into hydrogen and oxygen using a lot of energy. More energy than you can get out of the hydrogen in your vehicle.
The hydrogen needs to be stored in high pressure tanks both for transport to the fueling point and in the vehicle itself. This adds more expense to an already expensive fuel.
Also hydrogen vehicles still use batteries, so you still have the problems of battery manufacture and disposal that electric cars have, although on a smaller scale.

There is a good video about current state of hydrogen powered vehicles here

General Discussion / Re: Increasing road safety with flashing brake light
« on: September 25, 2021, 09:19:08 PM »
I just manually flash my brakes 3 or 4 times whenever I apply them.
IMO this is enough to be more visible without distracting other drivers with disco lights going off.

138.68 in USD? That's pretty good considering the global situation.

Yes, US Dollars.
