Technical | How To / grounding points on 2009 GV 250
« on: July 14, 2012, 04:22:53 AM »
greetings,

i purchased a 2009 GV 250 with 600 miles this past weekend.... after about 20 miles and a few bumps, the digital dashboard began to flash and blank out.  i kept getting a t7 error, and the red battery charge light flashes intermittantly.  this did not affect performance in any way.. ended up riding almost 120 miles this way.  headlights, brakelights, and turn signals all fully functional.   scoot started up like a champ next day, didnt seem to affect battery in any way.  but the dash still flashes and gives the t7 error.

my initial thought is a ground wire has shaken loose, leading to the error message.  i will check the battery ground soon, but i am not hopeful the problem is there, as the motor is fine.

any thoughts as to where else i might check for grounding issues?   would love to check this myself before taking the scoot in for service and losing half the summer riding!

thanks

i hate to admit this..

i had the same thing happen to me... just wouldnt start!

as the guy was rolling my scoot into his truck for the service call he noticed the kill switch was off.

i had to laugh as i gave the guy a $20 tip...

300lb'er..  i recently rode it 200 miles.. best speed was 65mph on long flat stretches.  wasnt much throttle left at that point.

rode thru a nasty rainstorm.. kept it at 35-40mph for best control.

ironbutt when i was done..LOL

2009 4500 miles

guy on ebay had super8 150 parts.. i was able to obtain a starter coil from him.. scooterworks in chicago couldnt find one during the 6 weeks my scoot was there.

LONG BEACH CYCLE PARTS

charged me $39 for a used coil, which seemed excessive.

think it was from a wrecked unit.

peace out
