Here's a cheap sprocket on ebay that will work HERE. The chain does have to be 108 links. In ebay, just search "428 108 chain" that should do it. Plenty of cheap ones too.

Unfortunately, there is just not a lot out there for these bikes. I would recommend an exhaust, Delkevic makes a decent one, if for no other reason than to remove the stock pipe. You'll be amazed at how heavy that thing is. There's other things you can do to tailor it more to your tastes, like adjusting the sprockets (amount of teeth) or replacing the carb to give you more adjustability. None of these will give you more power, per-se, but may make it more comfortable for you to ride. Lots of good info out there, unfortunately you kind of have to dig for it.

Ohh, I thought you were speaking of different lights (that's what i get for skimming through) -.- I will probably end up taking it off. I'm hoping that parts site will also sell fenders, as I have a crack in mine...tried teaching my friend how to ride a bike figured these things would be the easiest to learn on rather than my 500lb cruiser :P

Zach, that link I posted above should sell whatever part you have broken as well.

I don't but why remove it? If the reason is because of engine dying, poor idle or hard starting please consider venting the gas cap. Since this is a carburetor engine you may have noticed fuel draining from carb when hot. Regardless of carb or EFI you may have noticed a "whoosh" when you opened the gas cap and that indicates no venting of gas tank. Causes all sorts of problems mentioned above.

Karl

Eh, it's just an annoyance to be for no specific reason. It's simply there to pass California emission laws and completely unnecessary where I am in CO, and unnecessary to me means it needs to get gone. More of an OCD thing than anything I guess.

Thanks for the tip! Where did you find the new lenses at?

Hopefully that works for you.

The parts are MB5403 and MB5404......kinda pricey though....

Without ever having seen the seat, I'm assuming it's some vinyl like material stretched over the foam core and stapled along the bottom. My suggestion would be to pull enough staples to be able to pull the covering back and use an electric bread knife to carve the foam down. When you get it to a comfortable level, pull it tight and re-staple.

I want to do the same with the turn signals. Why did you have to order new lenses? is there no way to insert bulbs into the clear lenses on the body panels? Only asking because I haven't taken my bike apart yet.

Correct, there's no easy way to mount the bulbs in the original lenses, it's just a flat piece of silver plastic back there. I thought maybe I could use the mount in the stalks, but that would require lots of plastic and dremel workmanship that I didn't want to bother with. Tip, if you decide to do it, run the wires from the side signals UP to the wires behind the headlight, don't try to pull them down. They're may be some soldering/splicing involved, but much less of a hassle.

Hey there, newbie owner as well. The first thing I'm doing is getting rid of those stupid headlight turn signals and moving them down to the sides of the tank where every other K-Pipe on the planet has them. Had to order new lenses from europe, but I hate those damn stalks. Also found a company called Delkevik that makes a variety of really cool exhaust cans for the Pipe, that'll be next. If anyone else has good sources for K-Pipe goodies let me know!
