Title: Service Manual
Post by: Oldie on August 06, 2011, 09:48:00 PM
Does anyone know where I can order an actual hard copy Kymco Service Manual or a CD version?
I have found some on the internet to download but I have a dial-up modem and they all state there
is too much info to download via dial-up!  Does anyone know a website where you can pull up the
parts-catalog and get all the blow-up views of all the assemblies? (Specifically the Downtown 300i)

Thanks for any help!

I had the same trouble. I actually ordered a hard copy, and a CD turned up.
They charged me eight quid then I found out it was available for free - bastards!
Anyway, your best be a might be a trip to your local library with a memory stick in hand, then print it, (which is pretty much what I ended up doing)...

My kid just about destroyed mine when I left it on the coffee table one day.  I would love a copy no matter what the format.  ;D

You could try http://www.kymco.com/download/manual.asp?hdnMotorCapacityID=&PM=1&MotorTypeID=&MotorCapacityID=&Keyword=downtown&goSearch.x=12&goSearch.y=11 (http://www.kymco.com/download/manual.asp?hdnMotorCapacityID=&PM=1&MotorTypeID=&MotorCapacityID=&Keyword=downtown&goSearch.x=12&goSearch.y=11)

This is for the 200, but may be of some use, don't know if the engine's the same....

You've got me wondering whether I have the one that you are both after now.
Unfortunately my laptop was playing silly buggers last night when I went home and I couldn't get the neccesary files open.
I'll try again tonight.

NO, it's defintely the workshop manual that I have at home.
I've just read the onlive file that I quote yesterday and that's the crappy little book that came with the machine.
I'll get back to you...

(ED: The online version that TANWare quotes, is the right one, but non printable and non downloadable.)

Yes, I had gone to www.scribd.com (http://www.scribd.com) and saw as a visitor you could not copy or download so I signed up for an account and found out I still had the same problem!   I talked to a "Dealer" out West who  advertises handling Service Manuals and I had gotten my People S200 manual from, told me Kymco is getting stingy with the manuals for the later models.
I'll have to keep checking.   Thanks for everyones help....

Even my shop didn't have the manual. They had to call Kymco on the reset service light but I printed the screen shot for them as well. You would think to save money and time Kymco would just scan and place the manuals on line as PDF's...............

Not sure I'd be willing to place an order with a company that doesn't list their address...

Anyway, here's some resources you may find useful:

The super Dink an Downtown are supposed to be the same. This looks like the file but it is only 230 rather than 232 pages. The link is for a slow download unless you subscribe so no garenty or warenty but I'll host it as well. You may need to right click and do "save as".............

www.pcambrosia.com/Files/Manual_Downtown_300i.pdf (http://www.pcambrosia.com/Files/Manual_Downtown_300i.pdf)

Edit; this should also be a more stable connection for those with slower internet speeds as well................

Interesting - do they have just still shots, or do they have video to explain how to perform certain repairs?
Also, is this just supplementary material, or is the factory service manual included as well?

Perhaps more importantly, can you print from it?  Not only do I not have internet access outside where I work on the bike, but I'd have to keep the grease and oil from leaping onto my laptop every time I have to leaf through pages while doing the repairs.

I think you can buy the hardback book version from cyclepedia.com. for about $40. It is 157 pages long. I bought mine from there 2 years ago.
